TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- A woman admitted Monday that she coached her two children to fake retardation starting when they were 4 and 8 years old so she could collect Social Security benefits on their behalf.

Rosie Costello, 46, admitted in U.S. District Court that she collected more than $280,000 in benefits, beginning in the mid-1980s. Most was from Social Security, but the state social services agency paid $53,000.

In a word, the transcripts reveal that Mr. Gore's post-secondary academic performance was rather dismal, particularly in the field of science.

We're still waiting for those grade point averages, Dan. You told us that George W. Bush had "a better GPA than Captain Climate aka AlGore." So where's the evidence?

You didn't just make something up and post it as fact... did you?

If he graduated Cum Luade from Harvard I believe his GPA had to be over 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. My Father garduated from Harvard the year before Magna Cum Laude and if memory serves his GPA was over 3.5.

And as for Bush's GPA being higher than Kerry's, well that is true but if you look closely at the transcript you'll find that Bush was average throughout and Kerry had a rough go of it in the first year or so and improved his grades markedly in the last two years of college. Yes this still leads us to the conclusion that Bush had the higher GPA but when you talk to grad school admissions directors you'll find that they focus more on the final two years when students are taking more courses within their major area of study.
