Update: By the way, with this move Hillary has done just what the Republicans were trying to do - force the Democrats to take a serious stand on the war, one way or the other. She claims to be putting forth legislation for a withdrawal in ninety days. It will never pass. However, Democrats will now be forced to put their cards on the table - no more nuance to their anti-war stance.
This may help Hillary win her primaries, but it won't help the Democrats as whole one bit.
Afraid of being out-flanked by Obama, Clinton abandons all principle and takes a hard Left.
Feb 17, 2007 — WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the early front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, has called for a 90-day deadline to start pulling American troops from Iraq.
A piece in the Times had pointed out how she was campaigning as if it were a general election. It would seem she now fears losing in the primaries, so she's adjusting. Ultimately she'll just emphasize her weakness when it comes to the military and this hard Left won't get her anywhere.
I'm not sure who is more shrill, her or Kos, who isn't pleased.
But Hillary sure is getting buzz in blogland. Too bad much of it is bad - she's trapped between Iraq and a hard Left place.
