Edwards Is Toast
I can't believe this idiot actually thinks he has a shot to be President. Hillary must be rolling on the floor.
I’ve talked to Amanda and Melissa; they have both assured me that it was never their intention to malign anyone’s faith, and I take them at their word. We’re beginning a great debate about the future of our country, and we can’t let it be hijacked.
On behalf of the niggers and Jews, Christians, Catholics, Southern white supremacists, etc ... Amanda so often addressed ... thank you for clearing that up. For a minute there, some people were confused and actually thought they had a right to feel maligned.
As for the courage it took for you to prevent this hijacking, please don't ever try it on an airplane - we've lost enough skyscrapers already, you coward. If you lack the courage to stand up to a few foul-mouthed, unhinged bloggers, clearly you don't have what it takes to stand up against America's enemies - or for her poor, or anyone else.
Thank God you losers found each another, it makes you so much easier to spot.

So given your stance on this I assume that you are calling for John McCain to fire Terry Nelson.

Poor Edwards. Now bigots like Malkin and Donohue will NEVER vote for him.
Posted by: Seitz | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 01:45 PM
Seitz pretty much nailed it. By firing Marcotte and McEwan, Edwards would've been capitulating to a group of wingers who never would've voted for him anyway. However, he stood to lose a lot of liberal support if he bent over for the Malkins and Donahues of the world.
You got it all wrong, as usual, Dan -- Edwards did have the courage to stand up to a few unhinged bloggers. He stood up to you and Michelle Malkin, didn't he?
I bet you almost got wood making that angry, vague 9/11 reference, didn't you, Dan. Too bad it didn't make a lick of sense . . .
Posted by: Doug | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 02:08 PM
By the way, does Donahue know that you don't consider Catholics to be Christians? And why are you standing up for the white supremacists of the world?

"If you lack the courage to stand up to a few foul-mouthed, unhinged bloggers, clearly you don't have what it takes to stand up against America's enemies - or for her poor, or anyone else."
Oh, but he did stand up to "a few fould-mouthed, unhinged bloggers". With that one statement Dan, not only did you kill irony, but you dug up and sodomized the corpse.....

Soooo...because I live in the south (ZOMG A RED STATE!!!) and my friends watch NASCAR (although I find driving in circles boring) that makes them and me(by association) a white supremacist?
Gee, I'm considered apart of the racist crowd and didn't even know it. I guess I should go and notify all my friends who aren't the same race as me that according to Keith Olbermann and Marcotte says i'm a racist. Boy are THEY going to be surprised.
Posted by: Kite | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 02:22 PM
You might want to try clicking through on the links and reading exactly what was said in the original context, Kite.
F'r instance in the "NASCAR" quote that got you all up set the original quote is:
"There’s no real reason that NASCAR has to have a political edge to it, much less be some weird symbol of Southern male white supremacy and yet through careful Republican marketing, it has become just that. "
Take from that what you will, but under no reading in english that I'm aware of the doesn't involve at least 2 rounds through bablefish is she saying "NASCAR FAN = TEH RACISTS!"
(Link to the original source as opposed to Dan's link going to a summary:

Seitz, you are a leftist hypocrite-or is that redundant? Spartan, if you think that Nelson's ad is comparable to what Marcotte did then you are mentally ill. I swear, you leftists would defend Hitler if he was a Dem.
Posted by: Hard Right | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 02:29 PM
Malkin unhinged and a bigot? Buwahahahahaha. You lefties are projecting your metal illness onto others. Take your Zyprexa and be quiet.

Well 1 good thing happened from all this, Dan got to say nigger on his blog.
Posted by: Republican mandate | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 02:42 PM
Repusyort - I was being satirical. I read the original links and I know that they weren't screaming things like "ZOMG DEY R TEH RAZISTS"! However, Marcotte doesn't exactly (nor does Olbermann) the track record of being all that friendly to the southern crowd.
I still fail to see how NASCAR has become a political stunt that supports white supremacy orchestrated by the Republicans. That doesn't make any sense unless the only thing they had to go on was "There are more whites than blacks in the speedway." if thats the case then that arguement is seriously broken.
Posted by: Kite | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 02:44 PM
Nelson's done a bit more than just create racist ads. He was an unindicted co-conspirator in Tom Delay's money laundering schemes. He was part of the New Hampshire phone-jamming efforts.
Nice hire by the Straight Talk Express.

And thanks for proving the Republican mandate is racist.

"Seitz, you are a leftist hypocrite-or is that redundant?"
Got any examples of said hypocrisy?
"Malkin unhinged and a bigot?"
Yes. Next question.
"You lefties are projecting your metal illness onto others."
Well, I'll admit, I am allergic to aluminum and some alloys.
Posted by: Seitz | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 02:49 PM
"Take your Zyprexa and be quiet."
Is that something that will help me with my metal illness?
Posted by: Seitz | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 02:52 PM
" I was being satirical."
My apologies. My sarcasm meter's been broke for years and I'm too much of a cheapskate to get it fixed.
"I still fail to see how NASCAR has become a political stunt that supports white supremacy orchestrated by the Republicans."
I don't know that it has been "orchestrated" by Republicans. (On that count I think Marcotte was wrong). More like we have a lazy assed culture that thinks the height of sophistication is to present every issue as an either/or proposition. Thus America gets split in two. Republicans get NASCAR, Huntin', pickups and other emblems of good ol' boy southern culture (GOBSC). Dems get foo-foo coffee, loose sex, and other things associated with witty urbane costal culture. Republicans are just happy to run with it (in no small part, IMO, because the positives of GOBSC resonate better with a larger swath of the electorate.)
Even if neither is particularly true.
Of course I could be wrong, I don't think I am, but I could be.

Nice to see that Amanda has repudiated her entire body of work just for the few dollars Edwards is paying her.
There's a word for that. The polite way of saying it would be to say she has sold her integrity.

heres the message if you wingnuts didn't get it: normal people don't care what you think! the few of us freaks who post here only do it out of amusement. And I must say this particular thread is hilarious for the level of wingnut hubris and idiocy.
guess you guys need to learn sooner or later that you're irrelevant

It's only getting worse, Legalize -- right below Dan's sanctimonious hyperventilating about "foul-mouthed, unhinged bloggers" on the left, there's a TrackBack from the blog of a fellow right-wing traveler proclaiming "The Breck Girl is a Pussy."
Gotta love those oh-so-polite right-wing bloggers! Pure as the driven snow, all of 'em!

Can one of you far left wing radical kooks explain to me how it's us "wingers" who are smearing Amanda Marcotte by simply repeating what she said? Are any of you intelligent enough to realize that you're actually saying that Marcotte is smearing herself?
Posted by: Capitalist Infidel | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 04:36 PM
"Spartan, if you think that Nelson's ad is comparable to what Marcotte did then you are mentally ill. I swear, you leftists would defend Hitler if he was a Dem"
Well hard right, if the ad was the only thing he'd done I might be inclined to agree with you, but it's not. He's been at the fringes of a bunch of shady action.
As for the links Dan provided, they were all prett tongue in cheek if you ask me. Had I even known about these two previous to this "uproar" I wouldn't have taken them all that seriously.

True fact, up til that post the word "smear" had yet to appear in this thread. When you're done wrestling with yourself [Ahem] CI, do make sure to wipe off the monitor. Cause you don't want any, you know, streak marks....

Since you're not intellectually advanced enough to understand my comment RepusYort let me quote one of your fellow moonbats, why is it considered "unhinged" when all the right side did was quote her blog post?
Posted by: Capitalist Infidel | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 05:07 PM
SATIRE. Look it up. Oh, that's right: Wingnuts don't do "context." And don't own dictionaries.
Posted by: DWF | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 05:10 PM
"why is it considered "unhinged" when all the right side did was quote her blog post?"
Give me an example of someone calling the right side "unhinged" for doing nothing more than quoting a post. I haven't seen one, in fact my experience has been that the "unhinged" label gets affixed for the editorial comments written about Marcotte while quoting her posts, but that doesn't mean such an example doesn't exist.
Posted by: RepusYort | Thursday, February 08, 2007 at 05:18 PM
Bye Bye John. Thanks for cutting your own throat. BTW, how many acres did you clearcut to build your mansion? Just love the left's "environmentalists".

DWF-If you think the hate speech she posted is satire you are just as psychotic as she is.
Oh, I see. The difference between satire and hate speech is whether or not it's a leftist bigot saying it or whether it's a Conservative. Typical leftists hypocrite.
Posted by: Hard Right | Friday, February 09, 2007 at 10:12 AM
Dang, I'm late getting in on this one. But here's how I see it. Edwards was obviously trying to broaden his support from the Leftist swamps of the Democratic Party, therefore he picked these two gals in an effort to do so. He has to get to the Left of Hillary if he has any chance to win any primaries, or so his thinking goes. I'm pretty sure he knew what he was doing when he hired them.
After the uproar, he did his usual thing(polls being so important to Democrats), licked his finger, saw which way the wind was blowing, and waffled around a couple of days before he forced them to renounce everything they had written. He should have either kept them on as they were, or he should have fired them. I have less respect for him, and for them, over this affair. Not that I would ever have voted for Edwards anyway, so I really don't give a damn.

"After the uproar, he did his usual thing(polls being so important to Democrats), licked his finger, saw which way the wind was blowing, and waffled around a couple of days before he forced them to renounce everything they had written."
You know what you should do, templar? You should cry about it. Then tape yourself, and put it on youtube. That will really show John Edwards how much you disapprove, and how you'll be voting Republican that much extra in '08. Then 28%ers can all join hands and sing the impeachment song for the next 8 years because Obama/Hillary/Edwards is such a mean old President and you don't want him/her representing you anymore.
Posted by: Zifnab | Friday, February 09, 2007 at 02:08 PM
"...Then 28%ers can all join hands and sing the impeachment song for the next 8 years because Obama/Hillary/Edwards is such a mean old President and you don't want him/her representing you anymore"
Just like you moonbats whine about Bush and Cheney, no doubt.
Way I figure it... if the American people are collectively ignorant enough to elect a Dhimmicrat President in 2008, then our next ruler won't be a prsident, but some Ayatollah or other wannabe Caliph.
Or the nation itself will tailspin into Civil War 2.
Posted by: seekeronos | Friday, February 09, 2007 at 03:15 PM
Zifnab, or whoever, you have me pegged wrong if you thought I was complaining. I was just telling it like it is, sounds to me like you are the one whining. I guess I hit a nerve when I told the truth, but so what? I don't give a damn about Edwards or his campaign, I was just responding to the blog post.
I guess the poll thing got under your skin, as you quote polls about every other comment you make. Like I said, polls being so important to Democrats. And, of course, the fact that your brave heroes repudiated everything bad they have ever written about Catholics, Protestants, conservatives, Southerners, NASCAR fans, inbreds, rednecks, trailer trash, white trash, the military, and sundry others. I think we should take a poll, that sounds like more than 28% to me. I'm going outside right now and check the wind direction, a la John Edwards.
Posted by: templar knight | Friday, February 09, 2007 at 04:04 PM
"I guess the poll thing got under your skin, as you quote polls about every other comment you make."
The only polls I'm worried about happen ever two years in November. Those looked pretty good in '06. Maybe the 28%ers are the only ones with such thin skin that they can't handle a blogger with a sharp tongue? Or maybe the label of "bigot" coming from Donahue sounds alot like "racist" coming from Michael Weiner-Savage.
I think when Edwards puts his finger to the wind, he'll find its blowing in his direction. Didn't anyone ever tell you Republican-Americans that elections have consequences? Maybe you should try Canada.
Posted by: Zifnab | Friday, February 09, 2007 at 06:26 PM
More insanity from the homophobe, congrats on that templar. You seem to think you know what Democrats think, why is that? Do you have one sane person in your family that is on the side of good vs evil that let's you pick their brain? Maybe you should stick to trying to cure your son of that homosexuality thing, something you have quite a personal history with.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Friday, February 09, 2007 at 07:35 PM
A guy who knows nothing speaking from a position of nothingness. That would be you, Rob. Can't you think of anything new? All that dope you smoke has caused a brain freeze, but don't give up hope, Kaufman, you can always report to a rehab center, and even though the success rate is indeed low, you might be an exception.
Zifnab, wah...wah...wah.....what a crybaby! And a sharp tongue, about as sharp as a marble, boy. And I'll put up good money on Edwards being the next President. You're incredibly deranged if you think he is going to win. But, then again, you leftists are all deranged.
Posted by: templar knight | Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 01:30 PM
Are you always wrong homophobe? Sorry to inform you but unlike you I have never touched an illegal drug in my life so would you like to try to trade in your broken crystal ball now? I am starting to wonder though if the piece of lint on my keyboard has a higher IQ than you, I personally think it is probably a tie. Hurry and get working on that treatment for your son's homosexuality.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 04:47 PM
Uh, Rob, I have two sons, which one would it be, since you seem to know so much about them. And there is a rock right here, and I do believe I would rather converse with it, it being the one with the larger brain in comparison with you, Kaufman. If your brain was cotton, you couldn't kotex a piss ant, Rob.
Posted by: templar knight | Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 10:03 PM
Nice try again homophobe, but another swing and a miss. I guess what was being proven just went right over your head, not that would be very hard to do. For someone who likes to dish it out you sure do whine when it is volleyed back at you. And you are correct, you and that rock should have a nice chat since your IQs are in the same ballpark.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 10:46 PM
Uh, Rob, do try to come up with something original next time. Please, you're repeating yourself, mindlessly repeating yourself I might add. Has to do with that mental disorder you have, but there is hope for you, Robby. Think Jack Nicholson and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. A lobotomy would actually raise your IQ! And it couldn't hurt your personality, or lack thereof, I might add.
Posted by: templar knight | Sunday, February 11, 2007 at 12:36 AM
ROFLMAOBMGRMS, for someone who never varies from your own stupidity I find it humorous that you would comment on anyone else's supposed lack of originality. It is okay though, I honestly expect no better from a homophobe like you. I must admit your stupidity does make me chuckle, I am starting to believe you are just acting like an imbecile online because I highly doubt anyone could function at such a low level as you portray. I truly pity your family, if you truly do even have one.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Sunday, February 11, 2007 at 01:00 AM
Nice girls! Edwards has displayed his sharp decision making skills: "I fired them...oh wait a minute...no I didnt."
Posted by: Mermaid | Sunday, February 11, 2007 at 10:26 AM
Exactly, Mermaid, and the point Rob is too dumn to understand. Thank you.
And Rob, I live in Abilene, Tx., work in Russellville, Ar, so calling me a homophobe is hardly an insult. Both Texas and Arkansas have constitutional amendments that prevent gay marriage. Doh! Whether you know it or not, VAST MAJORITIES of both DEMOCRATS and Republicans in these two states oppose the gay lifestyle. Do a little reading, dufus!
Posted by: templar knight | Sunday, February 11, 2007 at 02:17 PM
So living in an area of homophobes makes it okay to be one? Nice try there Sparky, so if you lived in an area that was mostly racist that makes it okay to be one? Does that area also have laws against homosexual relationships too? You truly are too stupid and bigoted to even try and have a conversation with.
