WASHINGTON (AP) - Everyone needs a soundtrack - even politicians.
The presidential candidates who addressed the Democratic National Committee's winter meeting Friday got to choose their tunes, and it was an eclectic mix that reflected personal favorites and not-so-subtle messages.
Some candidates requested two songs, one that blared as they approached the stage and another that played as they left the podium.
The selections:
_John Edwards:
"This Is Our Country" by John Mellencamp. "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" by John Denver_Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut:
"Get Ready (Cause Here I Come)" by the Temptations and "Reach Out," also by the Temptations. "You're Nobody Til Somebody Loves You" by Dean Martin_Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York:
"Right Here, Right Now," by Jesus Jones and "Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" by Bachman-Turner Overdrive. "The Bitch Is Back" by Elton John and "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair" from South Pacific, with an encore medley of "I Am Woman" by Helen Reddy, "Woman, Woman" by Gary Puckett and The Union Gap and "If I Were Your Woman" by Gladys Knight_Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio: "
America the Beautiful" The theme from BarneySen. Barack Obama of Illinois
decided against using any music in keeping with the somber tone he sought to convey. "Black and White" by Three Dog NightWesley Clark, who hasn't indicated whether he will run, entered to
Johnny Cash's "I Won't Back Down. "TimeWarp" from The Rocky Horror Picture Show and "Crazy" by Patsy ClineSen. Joseph Biden did not speak was overheard humming "Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" by Nina Simone

Hey pallies, like how totally refreshin' to see a great Dinosong for Sen. Chris Dodd's tag. Never was, never will be anyone as cool as the King of Cool. Oh, to return to the days when Dino walked the earth.

Considering Biden's feral nature, I think he picked the wrong rendition of "Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". He should have picked the original by The Animals.
Dennis Kucinich's exit song: "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston would be good. That or "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol. "Dancing in the Dark" by Bruce. oooh yah! "One is the Loneliest Number"?
Barack Obama... hmmm.. "Easy to Be Hard" by Three Dog Night? nah.. that's what his women fans hum when they sway to and fro. His theme song should be "Paint It Black" by the Stones. (Did I say 'fro'?)

Real truth is that they all picked "Illegal Alien" by Genesis.....but they found out that Giuliani, McCain, and most of the GOPer candidates (save Tancredo, Hunter) already chose "Illegal Alien"
"Its no fun...being an illegal alien"
The Election of 2008 pretty much will be "my illegal alien loving candidate is better than your illegal alien-loving candidate"
And America continues to get screwed
