While our would be political leadership sits around and debates de-motivating, toothless resolutions of surrender, al Qaeda continues to launch attacks in regions and states where we haven't even begun to think of confronting them. Wherever they are successful, we will have to confront them, eventually. And they show no signs of pausing, or going away without a fight.
ALGIERS, Algeria (AP) — A group linked to al-Qaeda staged seven near-simultaneous attacks targeting police in several towns east of Algiers on Tuesday, killing six and injuring nearly 30, according to officials, police and hospital staff.
The claim of responsibility for the morning strikes came from al-Qaeda in Islamic North Africa — the new name for the Salafist Group for Call and Combat, known by its French acronym GSPC — in a telephone call to the Al-Jazeera television network. The terrorist group allied itself with al-Qaeda last year, raising the stakes in the region's fight against terrorism.
The seven bombings, some car explosions, hit the Kabylie region between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, the state news agency APS said.

This is probably because of their support for Israel.

Morocco, Algeria and others have had problems with Islamists for many years. They want to apply economic pressure by driving the tourists away.

Yes, P.A., since the French bungled their occupation of Algeria. This nothing new, but I blame democratic debate over national policy in the U.S.

Al-Qaeda are the new Huns. If you want to scare people, simply call yourself Al-Qaeda and they'll believe it.
They must piss themselves laughing every night.
