Well, it's something and that's certainly better than nothing. McConnell claims he has the votes for a filibuster if the Dems won't allow a vote on alternatives to the resolution against the surge. That would allow for some to vote for the surge and should be a real dent in any future effort to cut off funding for the war.
CAPITOL HILL Senate Republicans are threatening a filibuster over the bipartisan resolution condemning the president's troop buildup plan.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says fairness dictates that Republicans be allowed to offer alternatives to the proposal, which was put together by Democrat Carl Levin and Republican John Warner.
McConnell says all 49 Republicans are set to oppose a procedural motion Monday that would allow the Senate to move ahead with debate.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says such "obstruction" would be "an abdication of their responsibility" on the most important issue facing the nation.

Let us see if the pubbies have the stones.

So is Senator Warner not supporting his own resolution now, joining in with McConnell?
Maybe Congress needs to check their own approval rating before they continue with this circus. Will the drama never end? Some of these congressionals should be old enough to have more dignity than all this.
