Marg ... inalized Stark: He Don't Beat Down, He Beats ...

Naturally there's bound to be a hometown team effect regarding reactions to Mike Stark and I appearing together today on CNN's Reliable Sources. Frankly, I'd have liked a little more time for rebuttal, but such is life. Kurtz was working different angles to the story, which I understand and respect. As usual, he did a good job. However, Mike is so marginal to begin with, it only took a little coaxing, along with Howard Kurtz, who usually plays it pretty straight, to see just how marginal Mike Stark really is.

One minute he pronounces himself as reasonable along with Kurtz, then I bust him for his childish Hannity and Colmes stunt. Hint - reasonable people don't hold up vulgarity on national TV, unless of course you're that Left wing sort of reasonable that reasonably speaking, isn't really reasonable at all. I think that bit also gave Kurtz a better take on the Moonbat he had sitting across from him.

Stark's reasons for being outraged, as anyone who follows entertainment media today would know, were muted, at best, particularly in comparison to some examples I gave. All in all, my take is that he came off as a bit of a loon, so much so that Kurtz may have marginalized him even more than I did just by his being sane and sitting next to him.

Every time Stark came up with the next really egregious example of right wing talk, I felt he only made it worse. It was as if Stark didn't even realize Kurtz was working the free speech angle more than any other.

Stark promised his buddies a beat down, the idiot at SadlyNo posted ahead of time that he expected it. I expect a smackdown of epic proportions. Well, sadly, no, SadlyNo - there are only two rules to blogfight club. Don't brag about the result before the bell rings, and never send a guy who looks and sounds like he beats off to do a beat down. It could get messy.

What I really regret is not having had the forum or opportunity to ask him when was the last time he spat on his wife. I wasn't going to abuse Kurtz's show by making it a brawl.

I didn't think Mike did that well on Kurtz, who is always super righty-friendly anyway, but your characterization here that Mike assaulted anyone at that Allen event is ludicrous. Mike was tackled and had his head forcibly slammed into a plate glass wall. He hadn't even interrupted Allen's remarks at the event, but waited until Allen was leaving. Mike was a constituent. You may not like his message, or his tactics but he had every right to be at an Allen event in a public setting. I'm glad Mike wasn't injured in that attack, it looked as if he could have had a very serious concussion or a fractured neck, it was such a violent assault. He could have messed with Allen just by suing Allen and his goons right before he election -- did he?

Howard Kurtz by the way is the best thing on CNN and in the Washington Post. Not only is he the BEST media critic around anywhere he is a nice guy who is fair and always gets it right.
