Nancy,
Ixnay on the minimum wage thing for American Somoa, unless you want cheap albacore to start turning up in that Italian Bean and Tuna Salad you and Paulie serve in that over-priced chain of wop eateries you own.
It's been fun helping you get elected and I'm glad you're Speaker. But don't abuse your power. You as much as anyone should know that sleeping with the fishes can be a bad thing, too!
This helping the average guy crap only goes so far. Capisce?
Rich
The note is suspected to have come from Richard Wolford, Chairman, President and CEO of the Del Monte Food Company, however that hasn't been confirmed. Senator and Mrs. John Kerry were contacted for comment as it's thought they may own a large share of Del Monte stock due to a 2002 transaction which sent Starkist to Del Monte from H.J. Heinz and Co. for a large transfer of stock. The couple had no comment.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, returning to her hometown of San Francisco, strongly warned today that President Bush "should not abuse his power" with regard to troop escalation in the Iraq war and said it is the duty of Congress to "exercise oversight over his power.'' (here)
