And that, argues Dershowitz, is behind the former President's tireless campaigning against Israel. He says so in the most brutal and accusatory terms: "Carter ... has been bought and paid for by anti-Israel Arab and Islamic money."
I've attacked Carter on many fronts here and think he's our worst ever President and continues to be a major disappointment. But suggesting he was bought? I'm not going there.
More likely he came by the Arab money because he sympathized with their politics and the money came via relationships developed over time because he supported them. You'd have to conclude his whole Habitat for Humanity shtick was a fraud were he that greedy.
He's misguided and naive and a number of other things - but on the take? I'm not buying it. Keep in mind, Dershowitz has his own agenda, too.

Carter was the worst President ever and even in retirement, still shows his ignorance and arrogance.
He embraced every bad concept, as President and still exercises very poor judgement now.
Carter is less dangerous to the Nation now but I loathe him as much now as I did when he sent us to the desert on a poorly planned and neglectfully coordinated mission to free hostages in Iran.
Carter is still an ass. He has not learned a damned thing in all of these years.

Carter's activity with Habitat has nothing to do with whether he takes Arab money. He can do both or neither.
BTW: Habitat is not Carter's organization. He didn't start it and doesn't run it. He shows up and works a day or a few days as he chooses.
Oh, how I wish he would go away. But, as noted, he is not our only plague.

You know, if Carter were merely a grifter it wouldn't be as bad as what I believe is the real motivation
Carter's moral bankruptcy via his anti-Semitism.

Dan, you should look more closely into why he stopped supporting the Shah of Iran. He's been bought before, why couldn't he be purchased again?

Carter was a very dull witted bastard, still is to this very minute.
Grifters? The Clintons hold that title, undisputed!

Discussion of Morals is never applicable when dealing with politicians of any party.
With that crowd, Morals are always very negotiable.

Don't pay any attention to what Carter says, watch his hands ;->

oh, i dunno, dan: i think a credible case can be made that carter was on SOMEONE'S payroll, even if it wasn't the arabs.
by universal acclaim, the worst president in american history; domestic policy an absolute disaster; and his "foreign policy" produced nothing but catastrophic results for america. in case after case - caving to the sovs; saying nothing at all while pol pot butchered millions; allowing opec free rein; betraying the shah and handing over the middle east to the islamotards; pissing away the panama canal - case after case, and each & every end result was.....bad for america.
if carter was just an average, ordinary screwup, the laws of random events dictate that at least *some* of his decisions would have turned out ok. none did.
therefore, his incompetence wasn't merely random: it was planned. made to happen. an agenda was followed.
dare we say "bought and paid for"?

I don't know if you're old enough to remember, but Billy Carter was a bought man, no question about it. Bought by Libya.

Old trooper is evidence that Kerry was right when he said that morons end up in Iraq. Carter is the worst president because he sent a few dozen troops inadvisably to Iran to rescue the hostages? If this is true, what does that make Bush? What a moron. Thank goodness that its morons like you that serve as cannon-fodder.
