So Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has made it official and she's done it via the web. Why?
No back and forth, no press questions, simply a poised Hillary relaxing while ensconced somewhere, at some point alone on her couch... yet, claiming to have now started a discussion and promising to be back with more video to keep that going, soon. Keep what going? Short of an aside with an end table or a lamp I must have missed, her video didn't offer any discussion at all.
Outside of a bloggingheads-tv environment, highly-produced and obviously well planned web broadcasts are not the stuff of someone interested in having a discussion. It's the production number of someone planning to run a highly-controlled one way branding effort to define the candidate precisely according to plan.
With Hillary's reasonably well known, often questionable past (see Gateway Pundit) - I doubt the emerging Clinton campaign plan will allow much room for potentially messy discussions at all. However, she is a Clinton - so, perhaps there's reason for ... Hope!
Or, perhaps not. After all, Hope is still located back in Arkansas, while one presumes any still missing White House china and Hillary have made their way to New York.
And if one can make it there ... well, you know the tune. Question is, will it ring true this time out, or is Hillary too much of a less than Golden Oldie voters opt to leave on the shelf, ultimately destined for the discount bin?

She was great. I thought it would be the same boring crap as everyone else. But, nice touch. It couldn't have been any better. She's going to bring out groups of women who never voted before to vote for her. I know I will.

I've never seen her act well to an unrehearsed question. She is not bright. Her husband was the political equivalent of an idiot savant...unbeatable at appearing to know what he's talking about....but to the trained observer, there was nothing there. She's just an idiot...not a savant. And don't give me the malarky about graduating first in law school. I've had plenty of science post grads obtain great grades, but they had no creativity, no real push. Hillary is like that. And...look at the malarky we've received from some supposedly great lawyers.

I am with you Da Coyote. She is just another empty pants suit. I hope she does get the Democratic nomination. That will guarantee a John McCain victory. Most likely the plan is to run her for Prez and Obama for vice Pres. A female/black ticket will appeal to all Democrats.
But will it play in Peoria?

Bright??? You idiots voted (twice) for a stammering disaster who can't even speak in complete sentances. Nukular indeed!

"That will guarantee a John McCain victory."
Be careful what you wish for. McCain scares me as much as Hillary does.

Lol I just thought of something- If the 'fairness act' and the 'grassroot's' proposal issue goes through- She'll have to give equal time on her website to people who oppose her.

ha ha... Naz. That is funny. I wonder if she'll allow open comments on her blog. You know..like Dan does. Dan's commenters are Quakers compared to Michelle Malkin's. Sometimes she posts a pile of the nasty comments she gets. Shew.... bad news no matter what side you're on.
Da Coyote:
"I've had plenty of science post grads obtain great grades, but they had no creativity, no real push."
You nailed it. If ever there was a job on the planet that required the quick thinking of creativity, it would be the job of president. Creativity is an almost perfect gift. I'm not talking about Bill Clinton's on-the-spot creativity for smooth talking. I'm talking about the gift of synthesizing information and applying it to myriad scenarios and coming up with the right answer- fast.
I wish I could think of an example right off the bat, but I can't. Patton?
Guiliani? I'm just sort of guessing, but no president comes to mind. Anyway, good shot, Coyote.

Nope--Peoria AZ will go for McCain-native son and all that

I think Hillary will run a "stealth" campaign. Everything done via long distance. Hard to see agreeing to any debates. In the end she will have to do the 3 debates but they will be tightly controlled. Her running will mirror the way Segeline Royal is running for President of France at present.

What on earth has Hillary Clinton ever done to have convinced (some) people that she is "the smartest woman in America"?
She's never done anything, NOT ONE THING, to prove her substance for leadership! She's a detractor, not a solution-finder!!
For example, when Hillary attempted to untangle our heathcare system, I said to myself - if Hillary can figure this mess out and FIX it - she will DEFINITELY have my full attention!
But she didn't do anything with it! Hillary quietly conceded that it was beyond her. Understood. It's beyond almost everyone! But healthcare was the platform she had chosen to prove herself. She was going to prove to America that she wasn't some "little Tammy Wynette standing by her man", by exhibiting her ability to be a solution finder.
Well, over the years we saw A LOT of 'standing by her man', and very little resolution to our country's problems. So what makes her or anyone else think she's presidential material?!
A woman in the White House? ABSOLUTELY.
But Hillary is NOT the woman for 2008.
