It's laughable that this idiot Tucker Carlson with all the gravitas required to get on a dance show, or have a video store clerk fired, concludes McCain was sleeping during the SOTU.
As for these images via Hot Air - I see few if any that convince me someone was actually snoozing, though perhaps some were. What I assume most were doing during the speech was reading the text, just as I was doing at home.

Ack. He started off with a good premise (the premise that imposing democracy on Islamist states will not work in our favour - those nations are simply not capable of embracing alternatives apart from Islamist regimes)... and then went off on that McCain tirade.
Not that McCain is anything promising, the way he wheeled and dealed our border with Mexico away.

I am positive that Ted Kennedy had a feed in right ear. He kept his hand up there and fidgeted with it several times.
I wonder what he was listening to?

I dunno about that. Looking at the HotAir image, to my eye McCain is clearly drifting off (Biden too).

Yeah, sure. Or maybe he was resting his eyes. Or praying for the safety of our troops. Did anyone ask him if he'd had his eyes dilated for some reason?

I really hate to go on the defensive, but Dan, I wouldn't post anything that I wasn't at least 95% sure about.
There were numerous shots of others who could go both ways and I choose not to post them. I only posted the ones that I was sure were asleep. It was quite obvious their eyes were closed and not looking down.

That's a laugh. Unfortunately, your posts aren't easy to find, so I won't be able to serve up any doctored / ridiculously out-of-context clips, but I'll just let this one speak for itself:
"Howard Dean is the bane of the Democratic Party"
http://web.archive.org/web/20060508192720/http://www.exposetheleft.com/2006/04/13/dean-bush-implies/
Hey, at least he managed to get the name ("DemocratIC") right. Bush can't even do that.
(Of course, Dan "The Republicans will win every single House and Senate seat... forever!" Riehl probably doesn't even realize what I find amusing about this post.)

What happens to the threads on this blog? You link us over to some place that has us (me, maybe) in tears laughing, and then we (I) come back here and it's as if I've entered the twilight zone of non sequiters.
Now I don't know what to say. Oh. Okay. Tucker Carlson should stick to dancing. I thought McCain looked great, and everyone was reading that booklet thing. Except Dennis Kucinich who can't read and was waiting anxiously to position himself to touch the man.
