Typical Liberal, change the subject whenever you lose ... and you always do.

Maybe no one is talking about it because you are a nobody? Just a theory of course.

"Noel Sheppard notes the lack of reaction from the Left"
Apparently their best and brightest and snarking at you here. And by "best and brightest" I mean obnoxious and self-important.
Posted by: Gordon | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:20 PM
Hey Dan , Just wanted to make sure you saw this !
I'd say a 2 paragraph retraction/ correction should do it . I know you felt pretty good telling people " you can't beat the FBI" ( which I hear plays well in Heartland USA , tell The Nuge all about that ) but it turns out they , that is the FBI , lied and got caught . And it lied and got Caught lying about a progressive group trying to protect Kids from Republican Online predation.
So , as I say , one paragraph about how sorry and wrong you were and another concise one about thanking CREW for looking out for the kids should do it .

Dan Riehl - Professional Pinhead...
Posted by: A Hermit | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:25 PM
The Reliable Sources thing is too inside-baseball for me to waste time trying to figure out what you think you're crowing about here. But, speaking of crow (as in, time to eat), what about your own lack of reaction to the fact that CREW has been vindicated re the Foley emails?
Posted by: mos | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:26 PM
The question is, as you so sagely put it: Why is CREW lying?
http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2006/10/why_is_crew_lyi.html
Posted by: fred | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:33 PM
Hmmm.... So can we read into Dan Riehl's lack of reaction to the FBI/CREW report that "[s]ilence can truly be golden"?
Posted by: Jack Roy | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:35 PM
No, Jack. That's apples and oranges. You see, Dan Riehl was 180 degrees wrong about CREW. We're talking flat-earth Jesus-rode-a-dinosaur wrong. He is entitled to pretend as though this doesn't matter, because in the self-correcting wingnutosphere, the degree of wrongness is inversely proportional to the stain it casts on the blogger's credibility.
On the other hand, here was a "debate" on a laughable network between two bloggers nobody gives a shit about on the night of the NFL playoffs. Clearly, every single member of the LLL watched it and it was Objectively proven that Riehl won this bout in the Arena of Ideas. And so the order came down from Dark Lord Kos that everyone halt their "Riehl reigns supreme; Democratic party must disband in disgrace" posts and instead write about... nothing. Silence. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but such is the wages of blogofascism.
Posted by: scarshapedstar | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:47 PM
I read 309 words calling CREW liars in that original post . I figure being wrong and all , you could spare 1/2 that for the retraction/ apology, no ?
That works out to 154.5 words over 2 paragraphs. Come on, you have it in you . Spend 1/2 as much time being right as you do being so very wrong .
Posted by: A.Scott | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:47 PM
What did CREW know and when did they know it? I defer to you, you are an expert.
Posted by: flounder | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:48 PM
Dan, your silence grows more golden by the second. A veritable shower of goldenness, it is.
Posted by: mos | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:50 PM
Bwahahahaha! No one is talking about your appearance, ergo you must have kicked his butt good! After all, he "looks and sounds like someone who beats off".
Yes ladies and gents, Dan Riehl NEVER beats off . . . not when you can get a gently used Real Doll on eBay. And Dan ONLY posted the link to those cheerleader snatch shots out of UTTER DISGUST!
But seriously . . . when are you gonna retract your slander against CREW . . . pussyboy?
Posted by: Riehl Pantysniffing Nutjob | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:54 PM
"They must be genuine moonbats at CREW to believe they are going to get into a he said, she said with the FBI and come away a winner."
Fuck you, loser. Fuck. You.
Posted by: dave™© | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 02:57 PM
i am SHOCKED, shocked, i tell you, that big, bad, dan the man has not come forth with an explanation on how the CREW moonbats were lying about the FBI!
COME ON DAN, AFTER HAVING TO WATCH HOWIE MAKE YOUR ARGUMENTS FOR YOU ON "RELIABLE SOURCES," I NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU ON THIS OR I MIGHT VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT SOON!!!
Posted by: kj | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 03:25 PM
Oh give Dan a break on the CREW thing; I expect his handlers at Republican HQ are busy and haven't had time to tell him what to think yet...
Posted by: A Hermit | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 03:40 PM
Yes, I'd say I seem to have definitely hit a nerve on the Left. It obviously couldn't have been brain matter. LOL
Posted by: Dan Riehl | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 03:46 PM
Dan.
This makes no sense! Was CREW really right? I thought they were lying Wackos. The FBI lied?
I believed You!
.
Posted by: agave | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 03:57 PM
"Yes, I'd say I seem to have definitely hit a nerve on the Left. It obviously couldn't have been brain matter. LOL"
That's all you've got? A quick trumpeting about "hitting a nerve" and then a grade-school put-down? Awesome performance. Not only did you ignore the embarrassing news about CREW, you seem to think it vindicates you for some reason. I have to say I'm impressed.
Posted by: KRank | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 03:59 PM
Well, you see Dan was right. CREW actually got to the FBI investigators now, and blackmailed them into lying. It was a plot involving black helicopters, Hillary's CD Rom copy of FBI files, and three twinkies.
Dan knows all this and is keeping it on the QT because Dick Cheney is investigating this breach of the FBI personally.
Posted by: trifecta | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 04:18 PM
You know, if whimpering that people aren't paying enough attention to your media appearance wasn't so plainly the act of a Lou-Ferrigno-level manly man hero, I'd interpret your unwillingness to acknowledge how completely, aggressively, slanderously and demonstrably wrong you were about the CREW story as evidence of a certain moral cowardice.
But, hey, responding to evidence that you screwed the pooch with "I guess I hit a nerve" - that's some real pwnage right there.
We're not laughing WITH you, Mr. Riehl.
Posted by: joe | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 04:19 PM
Dan,
Once again, my friend, you have given your intellect its head, and been unceremoniusly dumped atop the growing pile of pundits who have been outstripped by the greatest of dangers to a pundit...Reality.
It is obvious to me, and so many others, that it is this sad state of shattered credibility, disheveled argument, and utterly atrocious writing skills, that you mistakenly confuse our abuse of you and the wreckage of your blog "career" with a hit to the "liberal nerve". LOL, indeed, Master Dan. Heh, even.
Posted by: Officious Pedant | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 04:27 PM
Why pick on Dan for being dead wrong on CREW when you can also pick on for being dead wrong when he also called the race for Macaca Allen on election night? So strange to see someone wrong so often look so smug while resorting to sandbox insults and thinking that makes his case look better.
Posted by: Rob Kaufman | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 04:31 PM
Buck up Dan.
I will get you a Jonah Goldberg fighting keyboard commando action figure with working grips and a 1/60th scale Microsoft(tm) keyboard to get you over this hump.
It's ok little camper. It's not like many people read you or anything. Most people will forget and you can come up with some more "unique" takes on things that other people call you insane for having.
Posted by: trifecta | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 04:36 PM
Dan's credibility (CREW, Macaca Wins! etc) is about as dead as Natalee.
Posted by: Carl | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 04:38 PM
Perhaps the moonbats are silent on Stark because of embarrassment over his appearance. It looks as though he's not used to wearing dress shirts, and forgot to insert his collar stays.
A little Dilbert-collar action going on there.
Cordially...

Gordon hits the nail on the head. Goddamn dirty hippies trying to self-correct the blogosphere! What are they thinking? It can't be much since they, like, have no brains and stuff! (HT: Dan Riehl)
Seriously, though. If there's anything respected in blogtopia, it's one of those Hot Air / LGF / Freep type sites where everyone gets a ticket to the circle jerk on opening day and then they fill every post with angry denunciations of the Left's cowardly refusal to join them in the Arena of Ideas, even they know full well that the Left is barred from joining in their little Stalinist kabuki show. You ought to consider Gordon's suggestion very carefully. Or at least take the RightWingNutHouse tack of editing dissenting comments without attribution and adding immature sexist/racist material. Yes sir, then Gordon will feel happy once more.

There might not be too much reaction to your irrelevant performance on CNN because sane people have already stopped listening to what, well, someone no one gives about, has to say - regardless of the fact that your self-important mug was on television. Your single point was that the left hates free speech when it doesn't suit its purposes. The problem with this "argument" is that that is not the goal at all. The goal is to let advertisers know what comes out of the mouths of hate radio "personalities." The fact that you can not distinguish between a letter-writing campaign to radio sponsors, and publishing the actual comments of actual people (I know you guys hate having your words thrown back at your face so that they may be scrutinized and all) on a blog site, and seeking to suppress speech, which you know, is what those actually opposed to free speech try to do, is more of a comment on your own deluded sense of victimhood than anything else.
Besides, isn't it always your crowd that barks "treason" and "sedition," whenever anyone dares criticize the Decider? Labeling inconvenient speech such pernicious terms, is truly in contravention of free speech principles. Has your own self-importance deluded you past the point of being able to recognize the most elemental hypocrisy in yourself? The fact that you are silent as to the substance of the hate speech proffered by the radio morans, and Ann Coulter says quite a bit - when they call for violence against political opponents, it's wacky free speech in action. When a clown gets on television with a "Hannity Sucks Ass" sign, the right's faux outrage machine trips into high-gear.
In short, the reason why no one is commenting on your self-importance, is because the sentient folks of the U.S.A. have plently of other buffoons to keep track of. Rush, Leeden, Kristol, Coulter, Malin, and Chuckles the Clown Johnson are way ahead of you.

Dan, how about this: I don't know who Stark is or what that whole thing was about, but I'm happy to grant that he probably looked dumb on the teevee and choked on his big chance to put you in your place. And the whole left blogosphere ought rightly to join together in granting that you were victorious on that field of battle.
Now that that is out of the way, are you going to admit that you were flat wrong in your assertions that CREW was lying? The title of this post is making you look more like an idiot every second. Or is your silence just so golden that you can't bear to break it?

Left Wing Comment on Howie and You and Stark :
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/01/21/mike-stark-on-reliable-sources/
You think radio shows should spout racist eliminationist buffoonery cause you think so . Mike Stark disagrees. Howie has his head up his ass and never read the first amendment.
So about you being so spectacularly wrong about CREW and the FBI ...?
Gordon....sigh....if you just let them come post on your blog and the nays outnumber the yays...you'll look like a fool ...get in the Game Dan
Just delete any negative comments and magicly, you were never wrong, they were .
Gonna take a ton of deleting by the looks of it ..

You are a nobody 8th-tier hack, Danny. Of course there is no "reaction" to you and your anti-American, unhinged, unbalanced, factually-challenged vision. You are the definition of a living joke.
Posted by: Dr. Matt | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 05:46 PM
What did CREW lie about? The IG report issued today seems to vindicate them completely, the FBI lied and CREW didn't. Hey Dan, don't you believe in personal responsibility? I'm pretty sure that includes admitting your mistakes, of which this was obviously a huge one (some might say libelous, especially if you continue the libel after discovering the truth).
Posted by: Shalimar | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 05:47 PM
Just delete any negative comments and magicly, you were never wrong, they were .
Dan really ought to listen here. The 101st Fighting Keyboarders already know that blogging is war. But the comparison runs even deeper than you think. You know how things only go bad in Iraq when the MSM reports on it? Heisenberg's Liberal Bias principle, and all that? Well, it's the same thing with blog posts. If you just make shit up and ban all the commenters who call you out on it... then presto, you have the world's most accurate blog!
It's worked wonders for Michelle Malkin and Charles Johnson...
Posted by: scarshapedstar | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 05:51 PM
Funny, Dan, but I'm not seeing a "well, gosh, it looks like I was completely, utterly wrong again" in your comment. Am I just reading it wrong?
Posted by: nitpicker | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 05:53 PM
What exactly did CREW lie about o Wise One? Perhaps Insight Magazine will have some details.
Posted by: Wanderer | Monday, January 22, 2007 at 06:05 PM
I applaud Dan for not taking down all these negative comments. I really do . I am a bit worried about the lack of well-thought-out rallying to him from his fan base though...I guess it's not quite time for his people to be home yet or something , so I'll check back after 7pm EST. and see if his Crew ( not CREW, Crue I guess) are going to back him up . I sincerely don't think he's even read the CREW/ FBI report , cause his naynaynaynay ( crewliedwhatever) up there would only prove he's completely lost touch with any agreed baseline reality. Or he reads words that aren't there , in any case , it's distressing.
His silence and lack of a quick concise retraction is making it uncomfortably obvious he just Can't...

Dan,
I'm curious why, rather than deal with the fact that Mike Stark and Spocko were clearly disgusted by the violent rhetoric of the KSFO staffers--"unfair!" you whined--you decide to show a picture of Stark making an admittedly childish joke. You know quite well that if someone said we should go hang Sean Hannity, you'd be leading the weeping and gnashing of teeth over the "haters" on the left. Your mascara would, no doubt, be an absolute mess.
And, despite the fact Kurtz propped you up repeatedly--inexplicably convinced, apparently, that Stark and Spocko had organized a boycott--you failed to make anything resembling a point aside from "Mike Stark uses bad words!"
And yet you crow.
I will never get you people. You continually seem to think you've got us right where you want us. Then the American people reject you, no longer buying the fear you sell, and you lose. Then your feelings get hurt.
And then an adult has to call for the waaaahmbulance. Pitiful.
