Zawahiri Calls Out Cowering Dems

Al Qaeda has sent a message to leaders of the Democratic party that credit for the defeat of congressional Republicans belongs to the terrorists.

In a portion of the tape from al Qaeda No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, made available only today, Zawahri says he has two messages for American Democrats.

"The first is that you aren't the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen -- the Muslim Ummah's vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq -- are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones who lost," Zawahri said, according to a full transcript obtained by ABC News.

If the Democrats had the slightest bit of back bone to offer in support of the war on terror, you'd think some Democrat leader would immediately want to take this head on. Unfortunately, they can't really do that, perhaps because to a good extent, it's true.

It wasn't anything the Democrats accomplished that won them more seats in Congress, this election was all about what Republicans and Bush failed to do.

There's a positive in that. If either major party is going to offer America what it really wants from government, ie more equals less and a strong response to terror, including winning in Iraq, it is going to be the Republicans. Unfortunately for them, the Dems have center stage now, people grew tired of an allegedly strong and moderate to conservative Republican Party which wasn't any of the above.

As for the Democrats when it comes to the major issue of our time - terrorism, they're the bunch of crickets chirping quietly over in the corner fighting amongst themselves over whether they are going to focus on 2008, or lose the mask and show America who they really are.

And in this particular case, their silence won't be a plus for them in the end.

So now, the right-wingers wholehaeartedly agree with one of the most vicious terrorists in the world. Their hatred of liberals is obviously greater than their hatred of terrorists. It's gratifying to see leftist's denouncing Zawahri with something similar to their passion against Dubya (PBUH). So, what's the "progressive" plan for taking the fight to this (Zawahri, not Bush) enemy?

Raising the minimum wage? Raising the marginal tax rates? Reinstating a draft? A sternly worded U.N. resolution? If you believe Islamism as respresented by the Z-man threatens liberal values, please indicate what rollback actions you advocate. Grinding them down in Iraq is obviously insufficient for you.
