Yeah, So What and So What?

I understand the rationale behind increasing our awareness over the, hopefully, pending death of blind sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman. But it isn't as if they need a reason to attack. I fail to recall a terrorist dying in an American prison pre--9/11.

I feel about like the Rottie does ... we should tell the terrorists he died early because we force fed him kosher food. Point being, they are coming one way or another and any reason is simply an excuse.

And here's another so what:

The Blotter article suggests their intel network is strong and they have a handle on al-Qaeda in Iraq - threatening to act if America leaves. If that's the case, then give us the intel, or we'll pull out of Iraq and move smack dab into the middle of your oil fields.

If, as the article implies, they have intel and they aren't sharing it - which wouldn't surprise me - all that points out is that eventually we'll have to confront Saudi Arabia, too. Not that that's really an outrageous thought. Face it, they finance enough terrorism as it is.

Frankly, we should build a hundred nuclear power plants, perfect alternative fuel. And then blow the entire region all to hell.

In the name of peace, of course. That way maybe we can get the UN on board. Ha!

What a bunch of hooey from the Saudis. OBL and his gang have been operating out of that country for years, and is probably financed by any of a number of princelings.

If they were so adamant about "cleaning up" Al Qaeda, they sure haven't been seeing the desert for the sand.

As for nuke plants. nothing would make me happier than to see five plants opened per state. 250 plants - that would generate enough to rebuild our stockpile to around 3x or so our cold war stock pile.

Nothing would make me happier than a discovery of the world's largest oil field in the middle of Kansas, the Land of Ahh's. That would do two things: Steal the trump card of the Arab nations' hold on us and any other nation like Venezuela that thinks we need it for oil; and it would get rid of farm subsidies for corn. Then the ME can blow itself up.

Say, if the Saudis had such a good handle on things, then why couldn't they stop the flow of insurgents from Saudi Arabia to Iraq? Or end the funding of aQ from their own rich aristocrats?

Such 'good friends', they are....
