Syria Attacked American Embassy

via Political Pit Bull: h/t Ace

Was Syria Involved in the Attack On the US Embassy in Damascus?

Maybe, according to The Blotter.

On September 21st I did a detailed analysis with video making the case that the Syrians were indeed behind the attack.

I'm reposting the original post below. Video and more below the fold.

According to this report, senior members of the Baath Party in Syria claim the US attacked its own embassy last week, while newspapers continue to speculate as to who perpetrated the attack and at the Counterterrorism Blog, Walid Pharez wrote of inside information suggesting it was Syria and Olivier Guitta agrees.

After a careful review of news reports, images and several videos, below is my case that the Syrian Government did indeed launch the attack, one never intended to damage or enter the embassy which would have been an act of war against the United States.

The usual superficial reporting by the MSM and the Syrian police removing all evidence in the attack within 90 minutes after its launch prevented the truth from coming out. Given a legitimate attack with a real investigation, such crime scene management would never happen, not even in Syria. Uncharacteristically, the State Department has not asked the FBI to investigate. They said no thank you. No doubt they already know who did it. Now, you can know, too.

The assault was not, as reported, a single pronged attack. It was a two-pronged assault, half of which, the frontal assault, or diversion, was only partially legitimate, the major component at the rear of the embassy was staged for diplomatic effect. Syrian Police did not respond to the attack as claimed, they were waiting and also executed the cover up. Italicized text from link directly above.

But within 90 minutes of the attack, U.S. officials report that Syrian authorities had cleared the crime scene of debris, including the destroyed vehicle and any forensic evidence which could have been used in an investigation. The Syrians also removed the bodies of the three attackers killed by security forces during the attack. All of this before any proper investigation could be conducted by the FBI into the details of the attack.

The first image, top right, shows where the first car allegedly exploded - adjacent to the now smoke-darkened guard rail. It was never a threat and didn't explode from a device similar to one a recently released alleged terror video displayed. It simply burned in an area where it could not harm the embassy, let alone threaten the gate, as was incorrectly reported.

It was a diversion for the alleged assault at the back gate, which I'll address. Most likely, three low rent Jihadis were sucked into an operation by the Syrian secret police and gave their lives for a diplomatic move they thought was going to be a serious major assault on the US embassy. They ran at the front gate and were promptly gunned down by Syrian guards before American security ever needed to be involved.

I'll introduce additional evidence in a video below, but note a few things from the second image down on right. What looks like physical damage to the vehicle in the second photo is only the effect of the hoist strap they placed on the car, still visible, though forward from where it was when lifting the vehicle as evidenced from other images and video. They lifted it up and dragged it before it even cooled, such was their haste to cover their tracks.

Also, on the trunk is a fiberglass spoiler. It didn't blow up, but melted in place from the heat. Additional images show no popped trunk, or hood and the seat springs inside the car are still in place. The car was set on fire, it did not explode from being chocked full of explosives as the media would have you believe. Other views in the video to come will show no glass scattered around the vehicle, it all simply melted. The black marks on the roof are peeling paint, not holes.

In the video below you'll also hear a young man state that he looked out from his school across the street immediately upon hearing the noises and the police were already there. Going to school across from an embassy in Syria, a police state, one knows the difference between the police and embassy guards. Consequently, the police were basically in position before the attack started.

The 3rd and 4th images down on right are simply of the right and left side of the van allegedly rigged to explode. As you can see, and the video will enhance, there is no damage to that van. It is simply parked adjacent to the rear gate, though not lined up to enter.

Reports stated the driver jumped out and fled when he heard the gun fire at the front gate. Why? Presumably, everything went according to plan. The van made it to the gate unobstructed but never crashed it, or exploded. The driver fled, supposedly being shot in the legs and then mysteriously died from those wounds without ever being questioned. Also as the video will show, there is no blood on the road near the van. How convenient. My guess? That was  a Syrian agent who helped recruit the jihadis that died and his job was done.

It's also important to note the van was said to have been stolen and it allegedly carried explosives through a highly guarded area, guarded not only because of the embassy, but also due to the homes of senior Syrian officials being so near.

The neighbourhood also houses security installations and the homes of senior Syrian government officials.

But look where the license plate should be on the van - it isn't there. If you steal a car and want to navigate a highly guarded area, you do not remove the plate if you are really worried about looking suspicious, or being stopped. The absence of a plate would more quickly draw far more scrutiny than if it remained. I posit the van never worried about being stopped and was likely put back in someone's service not long after the alleged attack.

Now take a look at the crack Syrian bomb disposal unit at right. The man on the extreme left is holding a screw driver. All of those individuals are actively involved in dismantling a van full of bombs and pressurized containers full of propane - all rigged to explode. Yet, not only are all but one of them not wearing any protective clothing, most are smiling and talking as if it were a walk in the park.

No tedious sweating over fusing, etc. Just rip the thing apart with a screwdriver, what do they have to lose? Sorry, I'm not buying it, especially as they were presumably rushed given the 90 minute time frame we know it took to complete the operation, including whatever time the press were given to poke around with their cameras.

The image below that one strikes me as interesting, too. It is from this strange video you'll see referenced and included in a news report on the video. It is very short, has no visible terrorists, but is said to have been circulated on the Internet after wards by a terrorist group to show they were responsible for the attack. It has no down with America, or praise Allah chants, simply two sets of hands reaching in to turn a knob, fill a propane tank from a larger tank and then the blue tank explodes.

The only real focal point of the video is the blue tank. All of the tanks in the van were also blue. As these videos go, it's bizarre. And it seems much more about trying to make the point that these blue cannisters are to be feared and are in the hands of real terrorists, though they are never shown, then it is about anything else. What I found notable, though some may call it a reach, is this, the hand reaching in from the left is wearing an apparently pressed dress shirt, seems to have well manicured hands, and hardly looks like the hands of some radical Islamist living in a hovel somewhere with nothing but a grudge to sustain him.

In any event, I'm including the last image for a bit of irony. Syria is alleged to have foiled a covert terrorist attack on the US Embassy - one that was said to have involved high explosives, grenades, guns, etc. The embassy came away basically without a scratch.

The last picture is of the Danish embassy in Syria, after a Danish newspaper published the now infamous cartoons of Mohamed.

I think what ultimately happens on Embassy Row in Syria is very much determined by the Syrian Government and no one else. US Embassy attack video below.

To summarize:

The police were already in position

The vehicle that burned posed no threat to the embassy

The van had no license plates yet traveled through a well guarded area

The area was cleared before the alleged serious threat was revealed to the media

It wasn't handled like a real threat at all

All the evidence and any terrorists died or disappeared within ninety minutes

Syria used the alleged attack to bolster its image as anti-terror and to point to the anger America supposedly generates in the region

My gut tells me it was all staged.

The video below is a compilation of clips from news reports re-affirming, or highlighting claims made above.

It takes longer than 90 minutes for the US cops to clear off an intersection after a car crash...

This report is entirely incorrect. Your facts and conclusions are incorrect. I was there.
