Well, it was Bethlehem, once. Looks like it's Bethistan, now.
The town’s Christian population has dwindled from more than 85 per cent in 1948 to 12 per cent of its 60,000 inhabitants in 2006.
There are reports of religious persecution, in the form of murders, beatings and land grabs…
The situation has become so desperate that the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, and Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor, the head of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales, are to lead a joint delegation to Bethlehem this week to express their solidarity with the beleaguered Christian populace.

"Allah Pundit", you should do your homework! You are really stupid! How astute of you to cite that Palestinian Christians populations began to decline in 1948. What is truly amazing about this (but that you probably aren't intelligent enough to know), is that in the same year, Israel was formally made a state by America and Britain and the persecution of Palestinian Arabs (and Christians!) began anew.
So, while it would be simply ignorant and along the same thoughtlessness of the current US president to call Bethleham, Bethlestan, it really should be renamed Bethle-zionistisreal. Isn't that a funny name? Or, we could call it "kill your brother land" or ""the land of those who think they are some how superior to everyone else". Jews and Arabs of that region are both Semites, thus brothers. To hell with the Israelites, the US Isreal lobby, and you, Allah Pundit... you are ignorant and watch too much Fox news. Educate yourselves. Who killed Jesus after all? Those same people are killing innocent people everyday in a land stolen from the Palestinians (and that is both Muslims and Christians).
Finally, Carter was far from being an idiot, as you say he was. Our current president is the idiot. Get your head out of his ass and educate yourself!
