After receiving initial reports from a Civilian Police Advisory Training Team (CPATT) source two days ago and investigating further, here's what I can tell you:
According to two CPATT officials--one in the U.S, one in Iraq--there is no one named "Jamil Hussein" working now or ever at either at the Yarmouk or al Khadra police stations. That is what they have said all along and nothing has changed.
The MSM is circling the wagons. Looks to me like they're getting to a point where this whole blogging thing is getting to be less fun and more work for them. Maybe that's why they're pushing back.
And now we see the true extent of bias in the media. Every MSM outlet that has touched this story has watered it down.
What a great time for some useful idiots in new media to give them a nod.
Powerline is apparently cutting them slack and providing wiggle room rather than moving in for the kill too:

what are you trying to prove? that somehow if you can catch one person at a news organization lying, then everything about Iraq that is bad will somehow magically disappear, and then the US will 'win'?
I fail to understand why you are doing this. You appear to be uselessly flailing about in search of something to say that is meaningful after your asses were handed to you in the last election.
Face it. Iraq is screwed. We screwed it. No amount of media parsing or Rather-hunting will change it.

A defeat of Biblical proportions, for sure. Similarly, the fact that groups of Muslim extremists are killing one another in Iraq is handing us our ass, as well.
Thank God the Cold War ended when it did; we'd have been in the scat if such Chicken Littles came to control the government.
