Newsbusters points out a new AP story by Qais al-Bashir which would appear to be a natural for attribution to Capt. Jamil Hussein as a source. They opt to withhold the name of the policeman. Allah makes that point here. But there's something else of interest in the story. Read this below.
Speaking at a news conference shown on Iraqi TV, Abdul-Sattar read a party statement claiming that during the past five months more than 300 Sunni families have been displaced from Hurriyah, more than 100 Sunnis killed and 200 wounded, and at least five Sunni mosques burned, along with houses and shops.
He said the party rejected sectarian violence of all kinds, but he accused Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's government of protecting Shiite areas of the capital while ignoring the needs of mostly Sunni ones.
So, an official of the party that represents the Sunnis allegedly burned a week or so ago gives a news conference regarding violence in that very neighborhood and he mentions over a hundred killed and mosques being burned but nothing about a recent incident that was said to represent an entirely new level of violence?
What are the chances of that? One would think that given his objective the official would have highlighted the alleged immolation incident almost above everything else. It isn't conclusive, but I'd venture we have another reason to conclude the incident never happened.
Also, assuming the AP was at the news conference, it's also curious that they didn't bother to ask.

The last thoughts the MSM will have, as the mushroom clouds darken the sky, are "maybe we should have been more honest and forthcoming with the information the public has a right to know. We deliberately withheld it from them because we are so nice. We covered up for the terrorists. We sucked up to the terrorists. Why are they killing us?"
Forewarned is forearmed.

I'd like to believe the same, but I think more likely is that they'll be asking themselves, "How do we blame this on Bush?" They'll never change; even as their necks are being sliced they will curse Bush instead of opening their eyes to the real problem. It's easier after all to rebel against a 'daddy' who won't punish them than to actually take a stand for civilization.
