Now Hamas has launched an attack on a Presidential Guard Training Facility. Looks like things are heating up.
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip: Dozens of Hamas gunmen attacked a Gaza City training base of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' presidential guard before dawn on Sunday, just hours after he announced he would end Hamas' 9-month rule by calling early elections.
One guard stationed at the base gate was killed, and three guards were wounded in the Hamas attack, the presidential guard said.
The assault touched off a fierce, 20-minute battle, and the sound of fire from guns and grenades mingled with the call for morning prayer. The gunmen fled after reinforcements were sent to the base from other presidential guard camps, security officials said.
