Do what? Why would someone want to have sex while passed out? What pleasure would that involve? He's so full of shit. Glad he's on there now, what he's saying does not make sense at all and he's making a bigger fool of himself. What a freaking jackass.

Anyone else notice that bfs eyes were closed most of the time while being interviewed? He hardly focused on Erin and the rest of the time his eyes were shut. Signs of someone making shit up. Trying to get themselves out.

No mention of the gun, the "alien abduction", and the roommate Cesca. New item - the jailhouse comment with his big mouth to the officer regarding a chess game. Fawley is so full of it and his attorneys made me ill. Also, I don't recall while he was in court for his sentencing hearing that he left Taylor in her car for a day and then returned to bury her. I thought he claimed that he left her in the woods and then returned to bury her the next day or so. Who knows - he is a massive LIAR. At least the prosecution stressed (and Erin and Glynnis) that there was no hint of erotic asphyxiation in her past. Erin and Glynnis -- if you read this, you done good, girls.

Janet - I thought 48 Hours did a very good job with this story. I was impressed. I didn't expect to find any answers, I was more curious how the media would portray it all. Sadly, I believe we will never have all the answers.

Ok, I wanted the woman to ask him about the other girls in his past, who he choked out of anger when they rejected him, but, this time with Taylor, the 'choking' and 'passing' out thing during sex was all HER idea..."I mean, you have a history of choking girls when they reject you, right Ben, why would this be any differen't? Why should we believe you now?"

But she never asked this...

Now, I have just spoken to Peace about this, and we all know that he choked Erin,(who to steal a phrase from Abby "smacked his shit up") and choked Jessica, but did you guys know that when he assaulted the Polish girl, he punched her in the head 3 times and sat on top of her, holding her down with a FUCKING KNIFE(sorry nova, but people write like they talk, and this is how I fucking talk..)

How come this was never brought up? Why didn't anyone bring up his "history" of choking and assaulting other young woman?

I thought it was an exellent program, very sad, and very emotional, and I want to smash the scumbag in the fucking mouth right now...

Sending much love your way Janet...

Vedder

I was sort of unsure when bf was on, but I'm glad now. I don't think he's fooling anyone. He had his eyes either closed during the interview or averted. I think during the entire thing I saw his actual eyeballs for about 30 seconds--during the taping. Don't care a shit about him and I think he's a freaking liar.
I'm with Nibblet--you are true friends of Taylors! You will deal with this forever, but Taylor knows you love her and now she's watching over you!

Hey nibs..

Yea, the story changed a few times didn't it?
But, the chess game comment, I remember reading in August..he said, " Its like a chess game, I have made my move, now its time for the cops to make theirs..."

The "going home and going to sleep, leaving her in the car and THEN returing to Mathews to bury her the next day", yea, that was new....

But as we all know, everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie, and of course the story will constantly change...

Lies lead to more lies, which lead to more lies. The hole just keeps getting deeper and deeper...

Everyone know this...

Love your potty mouth Vedder! Hehhehe! I've got to get some sleep now, but I'm excited to be able to bash that MF as we are all wound up again! More this week!

There was so much that could have gone into the 48 Hour show but I guess when the day is done, he is a liar and a murderer. I thought it was a good show. It was nice seeing new pictures of Taylor when she was a little girl and in her teens.

You are right about his eyes Abby. They rolled around so much I thought they were going to pop out and bounce around. His face looked a bit pudgy - I guess the camera does add 10 pounds...

I noticed that Erin proclaimed that she and Taylor were "friends" several times during this broadcast.
Did I miss something?
Since when were Erin and Taylor friends prior to Taylor's death?
The only connection I knew of between the two was Ben and the property on which Taylor was found.
Can someone enlighten me?

Also..I'm glad Erin finally got the reward money.

hey vedder - I'll bet the air was let out of his attorneys big heads once he made that chess comment and wrote that lengthy letter (the letter was to Hilde, but turned in by another woman, right?)! My impression of Collins at the sentencing was that he had totally lost interest.

" Its like a chess game, I have made my move, now its time for the cops to make theirs..."

and Taylor is laughing up in Heaven,

"Checkmate,Ben!"

Yea, I thought that was odd myself. From what I understand, they had only met a few times and were "aquaintances" at best...

She was such a big part of finding Taylor that, it just made the "story" flow better I guess...

For the most part though, I thought the program was very accurate, and aside from the Erin thing, took very few liberties...

I'm not really aware of Erin and Taylor having been "friends" in the usual sense, but I think that Erin felt a kinship with Taylor. They shared the horror of being fooled and abused by Ben. Erin is a beautiful, gentle young lady - very sweet and very soft spoken. I'm sure this is something that will haunt her for some time to come. Yet there is a very strong spirit - a spunk to her nature. Mathews County has brought up some sweet, beautiful young ladies with inner strength.

Hey again nibs...
Yea, you could tell that once Ben made that "chess" comment that they were done. And, that they knew Ben was done...They couldn't have been happier with the deal. They KNEW if he went to trial, they were FUCKED, and that would have screwed up Collins' almost perfect record...

And from what I understand, nibs, those letters WERE to Hildy. Yes. She had passed them along to a friend( the girl who was fired from her job) who passed them along to scumbags laywers....You are correct

I'm sure Erin realizes that could very easily have been her and that established a bond between her and Taylor. It's a shame that when Fawley went to court for the break-in to her apartment that Jonathan didn't get the notice to be there. Fawley would have probably spent more time in jail and none of this would have happened.

Well, I'm off to bed - my laundry is done. Will check in tomorrow - night all!

If you go to the 48 hours homepage, there is more of the interview with ben that was not on the show. He now claims that Taylor "tied him up" as well, saying that at one point, she had "tied him to the car door"

"It was two people concenting, it was a game..." Again, the ONLY time he was looking at her, the only time he DIDN'T lie and close his eyes and look at the floor, was when he said he didn't know CPR....

He is also pissed at himself for leaving her body in a spot he was so closly associated with...If ya read between the lines, he is saying "how could I have been so stupid" He's not sorry he murdered the little girl, he's sorry he got caught. Just like every other scumbag...

Watch it, and you will see what I mean...

I am glad they actually did this show because most of us have never really heard Ben speak, just read about him. We all knew he was as guilty as can be, but hearing him and seeing him really made you see what a liar and "monster" he truly is.

Not only did he take her precious life away, but he tried to tarnish her reputation after doing so. One thing I can say is anyone with half a brain knows fully well she wasn't premiscuous and knows he made the whole story up to *attempt* save his ass. You can clearly see her innoncence in every single one of her pictures. She didn't dress like these teens today, barely any make-up, just a natural beauty. Every girl flirts, its human nature, but you can tell even as her friend put it she was a "prude".

If anyone had ANY doubt before the show, they definitely don't now. Couldn't have been any clearer that he was making it up as he went along.

I think 30 years is too light of a sentence, but at least he doesn't get to see his children grow up.

I can't wait to read the book. You are one classy lady Janet, and I know your beautiful daughter was as well.

I watched the show last night and 48 hours did a good job on this story!! Abby,I also wanted to reach through the screen and grab his hair and make him look her in the eyes.He has a disease alright, the disease of a con artist plain and simple!!! He tried to make Taylor look like a "sex master" at the age of 17 and he thought the public would believe his story hello....Ugh,at least he is where he needs to be.

No doubt she was murdered in Richmond and taken to Matthews to be dumped. The story about the sex in the back seat of such a small car is BS.

I thought 48 Hours did an amazing job showing Ben for who he is. Y'all have hit on most of it, how he can't keep eye contact and the such. Did you also notice how he would use his hands to cover his face while he was talking, that's another sign of guilt. I also thought Erin Moriarty did a good job of putting him on the defensive and reminding him that we "only had his word."

The deleted scences on cbs.com were interesting. The last one was very O.J. like with the reference to (and I paraphrase)"...if I had done it, I would have done it like this."

Hello everyone, can anyone tell me why my posts from the other thread were deleted?

I found the whole show very difficult to watch. My child is still at VCU and it just brings back so many concerns.

Watching the weasel try to weave yet more eroneous details into his already unbelievable tale was disgusting.

I too was surprised that Erin called herself "Taylor's Friend". I did remember her lengthy posts with Steve Huff and had some recollection of her saying that she and Taylor had meet and IIRC she had suggested that she told Taylor something like...you don't want to mess with him...

I noticed a glaring omission: Mike Cino and Cesca were not interviewed as neither Jessica nor the other abused exes were represented.

I also want to know why no one has ever discussed what the BF did with Taylor's car for two weeks and what he did with her other personal belongings such as her driver's license, bank card, shoes, pants, VCU ID, keys, etc. We know he dumped her cell phone on the airport grounds but where is the rest of it? I still think they need to find these things because I worry that he has a hiding place and in that place the detectives might find evidence of other crimes. They still need to find that garage that he used to rent and to check the storage areas at 407, the bldg he "managed". Whatever they can do to bring forward further charges, before the statute of limitations runs out, would be wise.

Capt. Joe, I too think he killed her in Richmond but then I have to consider that the dogs followed her scent, throught he air, and then reacted to a fear scent at the site of her body. I do believe he thought of dumping Taylor at other locations in the city, like Fulton Gas Works, because he mentioned, in his "confession" that they went to several locations before going to Mathew's County. That is probably true only in the sense that he drove "Taylor" around trying to decide either where to hurt her or dump her if she was already dead.

The truth, I am affraid, will go with him unless LE continues to dig for the truth and find his hiding place. He wrote and documented everything so I am certain he documented this Murder as well.

Natalie - I don't think there was anyone left before this show that believed in his innocence. That was shattered long ago.

I'll have to watch the rest of the interview that wasn't aired. I'm sure it will be as interesting as 48 Hours was.

k - I really don't think having Mike or Cesca would have added much of anything. Cesca has more interesting information about his actions following the crime, but Mike's only involvement was the Ben was one of his roommates at the time Taylor visited.

Just interesting that 48 hours seemed to leave out the people who could best describe the BF before and after the crime.

I'm wondering how many of the interviews were filmed before the Alford Plea came about. That would explain why so many topics were not mentioned - if he was interviewed and there was a trial by jury looming, his attorneys may have had designated topics not to discuss - like the gun - that was one of the first things his attorney dealt with when Fawley was arrested. He has had so much time to come up with his lies that he has forgotten what he originally said.

I think there's only so much that they can fit on the show. To me, it doesn't matter what he was like before. It's what he did and what he is now. He stole her life and permanently altered the lives of so many. I hope Taylor's story will get through to some people and make them think harder about choices. And I know we'll all remember her beautiful smile.

I watched most of the show. My thoughts:

They couldn't interview everybody, there are time constraints. It was only an hour show. There was no real need to interview Mike Cino and Cesca Waterfield. They were just his roommates, and really wouldn't have contributed much except their perception of Fawley. They interviewed Fawley himself, and that gave the viewer the best image of what he was really like.

I too was surprised that Erin Crabhill was mentioned as being a "friend" of Taylor's. She really wasn't.

I was not one bit surprised at Fawley's behavior. He's a very disturbed man, a pathological liar. He claimed never to have heard of "erotic asphyxiation"; this was a guy who attended fetish conventions! And what was the deal with his lips? They were a deep rose red. Has he gotton so pale and pasty in prison that his lips appear redder? He looks older now. When he was a free man, he was able to dye his hair and wear clothing more befitting a teenager, which along with his shrimpy build, made him look much younger. It's a good thing he's been put away, Richmond as a whole is probably safer because of it. One thing that puzzled me: I think it was Erin Crabhill that said that the "badboy" Fawley was "intriguing" to girls. What was so "intriguing" about this little weirdo who fancied himself an artist and photographer? Just what was it about him that made college age girls sleep with him? He was AWFUL.

Taylor Behl could not really have been called "innocent", at least not in sexual terms. She was seventeen and had had sexual relationships with four men, and possibly a lesbian experience as well (that information comes from Janet Pelasara's book). She was also not a "prude". A "prude" doesn't climb into "the bunk" of the likes of Ben Fawley, a man decades older. Her reason for going to bed with Fawley was that was that she "was curious". She seemed to me not unlike many college students; they fall into sexual relationships easily and fall out of them just as easily. On a college campus there are a lot of young, attractive, carefree young people. It's just easy for them to hookup.

I agreed with one of Fawley's lawyers. He said that Taylor Behl fell in with the wrong group of people and unfortunately ended up dead because of it.

I found the show as a whole mildly interesting. There was nothing new to report. Fawley's in jail. It's over.

It will never "be over" for those who were even slighty associated, not to mention for those who were personally involved in this tragedy. That is a callous thing to say. It is only over in the sense that people must continue to live and plan for their futures.

Lessons can be learned from this. One thing is certain,if the story is told to enough people and really heard enough times then maybe someone will warn the next "Taylor" to steer clear of the likes of a man similar to the BF or perhaps another young person will see through the guise of another predator like him.

k - I absolutely agree with you. Lessons can and should be learned from this and I think we all hope that they are. Again, I think Erin feels a kinship with Taylor and I believe that's where the friendship comes in. I believe she feels that friendship with her now. They shared something together. Erin was fortunate to be able to walk away from it. Sadly Taylor was not able to. There are so many what ifs that may torture minds forever, but the bottom line is that Ben murdered Taylor, he's behind bars at least until he's 62 or 63. I think he has to serve at least 26 years and I suspect they'll keep him for the full 30. I don't remember what it's called - Cinderella Complex comes to mind, but that's the opposite. It is old psychology - the woman who takes on the bad boy because she believes she can fix him. I think women are - at least used to be, we've come a long way - raised to take care of people and nurture them. Janet said many times that this was something in Taylor - she had a need to help people - to fix things.

Rowbear,
They were probably deleted because you aren't interesting and I for one do not care what you have to say. I usually don't usually make comments just because someone says something I don't agree with but you bug me and I am in the mood to make my comment.

The filming began before the plea and Mike Cino and the rest mentioned wouldn't have added anything of value (so I was told by 48 Hours).

As was said earlier, they couldn't fit everything into one hour. If the animal had said what he had done with Taylor's car - could we have believed him?

I was very pleased with the show and have an enormous amount of respect for Erin Moraity. She is a very smart lady with a heart. They spent months and months on the preparation of this show and I think it showed.

Janet

"Janet said many times that this was something in Taylor - she had a need to help people - to fix things."

Peace,

That gives me chills, because it sounds SO MUCH
like my friend,Cassandra Bell,whom I've mentioned
before. She's the spitting image of Taylor too.
(Janet thinks so too) It's really creepy.

I watched all of the show and even taped it to watch again. I also watched the extra footage on the 48 hours website. I agree with everyone that has said that the show was very well done and only left out certain key things because of time constraints. And those who have followed this case from the beginnings know full well what was left out.
I hope sometime in the future some first rate true crime writer will write a book about this case. It deserves an in depth full length book.
Yes young college age girls can learn from this case. They can learn to stay away from older men. They can learn that every college in the USA has older guys hanging around looking to score young chicks. And that most all of them are losers. Most do not even attend any classes. BF was truly a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I agree with "K". Will it ever end for Janet or other family members? What about Taylor's friends, does it end for them too?

Cynthia ~ your last post was way out of line. Basically you and Ben's lawyers are saying Taylor got what she deserved. That's real nice. It doesn't matter what her history may or may not have been, no one deserves her fate.

Janet ~ not interesting? Ouch, that almost hurt. To quote Bono, "Am I bugging you? Didn't mean to bug ya."

"Cynthia ~ your last post was way out of line. Basically you and Ben's lawyers are saying Taylor got what she deserved."

Make that way, way, way out of line! She sounded
a LOT like the F Word's lawyers.

Let me clarify a few things:

When I said it was "over" I meant the CASE is over. Closed. The person who committed the murder is locked up, and will remain locked up for a long time. The murder of Taylor Behl will stay in the minds of a lot of people: her family, her friends, people who knew Fawley. Of course no one forgets the loss of a loved one, especially one so young who was taken in such a cruel fashion. And she will always be in the back of the minds of people who knew Fawley. They're probably always going to be asking themselves "could I have done anything to prevent this?" and "how could I have viewed him as an eccentric but essentially harmless guy"? The women who knew Fawley will probably always be haunted by the thought "it could have been ME."

I knew some people here would jump on my agreeing with the lawyer's comment that Taylor Behl fell into the wrong crowd and ended up murdered. NOBODY, not me OR the lawyer said "she got what she deserved". Nobody blamed her for anything. She was a typical college student, experimenting with different kinds of people, hanging out with a lot of different types. Almost all people her age do that. She, unfortunately, had the bad luck to become involved with the weirdo loser Fawley, a mentally-disturbed man with a history of violence toward women. And her involvement with him resulted in her murder. College students, especially females, need to be careful about who they associate with. Especially at a college like VCU, which is teeming with bizarre weirdos and criminals just waiting to take advantage of young, gullible people.

Hee hee

Tonight I wrote "Ben Fawley" on a scrap
of cardboard,microwaved it,threw it in
the toilet, did my business, then flushed it.

Made me laugh.

It was annoying me how many times they called Erin a friend of Taylor's, but I don't think it really altered the story for those unfamiliar. I was quite shocked to hear the narrator begin the story by saying Taylor had a penchant/proclivity or such word for flirting w/ older men. I was a bit shocked by Jesse Shultz saying he told LE to F off! I was terribly bothered by Ben's appearance, something was wrong w/ his mouth.

"I was terribly bothered by Ben's appearance, something was wrong w/ his mouth."

I noticed that too. Lipstick?
Is he somebody's plaything already?

too rosy, too puckered.

I think his lips looked red due to "prison pallor", which makes the lips look redder. He was puckering them up a lot, which I think is just another one of his tics.

What do you think this has done to the F Word's
daughters? Can you imagine the teasing at school?
Kids can be REALLY Mean!

Hopefully, they will be spared anymore ugliness. They, like Taylor are innocent victims of BF, the sick and cowardly bastard. May he rot in hell.

Not quite as odd as stalking the mother of a murder victim and failing to realize one's lack of literary talent.

Zippity Do Dah !

I haven't laughed out loud or so hard in days - thanks.

Someone once remarked that there wasn't enough interest in Taylor's story for a book. The book won't be a best seller but the feedback via emails (and from strangers) has been incredible.

My latest venture is self-defense classes for young women ages 15 and up and as long as the venue is free there will be no cost to the students. The initial class will be in Vienna and then out to Loudoun County. If you can get a group of women together, please let me know.

Were you refering to me,Zip? Stalking?

I was feeling extremely ticked off at
the F Word, and having trouble sleeping,
so I may have been "a little odd"
at the time.

John ~ whatever works for you. It's all good. No one likes the guy, I just thought it was odd.

Zippy ~ I agree. That type of stalking is uncalled for and in bad taste. I'm curious though, I don't understand the "literary talent" comment. Who is that directed at?

Janet ~ That's a great idea about the classes. They should make it part of Gym classes in high school and make it mandatory. I think you're onto something.
