I thought you might want to check out Compete.com's blog today that features information from a survey of people who have visited popular political websites in the past few months. It compares their claims to party affiliation to what their internet behavior says about them. There are some interesting trends. Yesterday and Friday's blog postings also look into traffic to popular political blogs and what that indicates.

You might as well relax and deal with the fact that two-party governance is back. Opposition is not EVIL. It is what this country is all about. Stop yer whining and buck up, sonny.

"You might as well relax and deal with the fact that two-party governance is back."

Would that it were true, but alas the two parties we have are too entrenched in BS to actually govern in a bi-partisan way. Yet We the Sheeple continue to play the game in hopes that one day, by some miracle, we will get a majority of adults in Washington who actually give a crap about the country instead of their own sick agenda. Tis the only game we have so let's keep rolling the dice.

"The numbers are there. If we get an honest count." That, before the polls opened. These people are a disgrace to democracy.- Riehl

Oh, because the Supreme Court didn't install W in 2000. And Ken Blackwell didn't use his office to disenfranchise 300,000 citizens of the state of Ohio, and the phone jamming, push polling, illegal threats of arrest, etc., etc.

You're intentionally deaf to the fact that you back a party that uses voter supression (wiping voter lists), intimidation (thugs at Philadelphia polling places, for example), and outright deception (TN residents getting calls stating that if they voted in primary for Ford, they don't have to vote again), all as a matter of course.

The GOP only wins elections because they'll do anything to win elections, regardless of the morality or constitutionality of the situation.

So, Riehl, why don't YOU quit the whining, you sniveling cheat.

-Blue Patriot.

Or in other words: "Stop bitching about our dirty tricks or people are going to figure out what we're up to!"

Pelosi's comment right there is a sure sign there's gonna be endless 'investigations' into 'voting fraud' if they don't get the majority- gosh- can't wait for the whining to start- already- lawyers are lining up for the kill- Sadly the country is itching for 'change at any cost' and it will be a huge cost if we do 'change'

Well you're going to have to face our Democratic platform, when we sweep your corrupt, rubber-stamp, do-nothing GOP out of Congress, and possibly the Senate as well.

And your GOP Congressmen who are leaving, will have no one to blame but themselves.

Just as you will have no one to blame but YOURselves, for the current state our country is in.

I expect that, after waves of denial excuses and blame-shifting for all the many disastrous GOP governing, you will now start paying attention to every single possible mistake or misstep that the new Democratic congress may make.

Which is as it should be.

Nevertheless remember: your GOP congress earned their own removal. No one else did it to them; they failed in the eyes of the public, and were held accountable.

If the Dems win today, it will take at least until Noon Wednesday for the Republicans to blame them for the Iraq War.

Nu-Rem-Berg! Nu-Rem-Berg! Nu-Rem-Berg!
(Chanted to the cadence of U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!)

cheesenrice this partisan bitching cracks me up!! I just hope someone is helping to make sure there are no hanging chads. Because even the stupid should be allowed to vote.

I notice you don't insist on rethug scum having a plan for iraq...stay the course is not a plan!

Look at me, I'm a Liberal! WAAAAAAAAAAA!!

LOL

Kinsey: "Older readers may recognize this formula. It's Vietnamization—the Nixon-Kissinger plan for extracting us from a previous mistake. But Vietnamization was not a plan for victory. It was a plan for what was called "peace with honor" and is now known as "defeat.""

This is a meme.

Nixon no more expected South Vietnam to be overrun than Eisenhower expected South Korea to fall. The historical parallel is that in both cases a Republican "realist" assumed the Presidency and sought and gained a cease fire in an unwinnable war -- entered into by the previous Democrat Administration.

The difference between Korea and Vietnam is that Congress continued to fund the defence of the Korean penninsula but refused to fund air cover for the defense of South Vietnam.

America didn't lose the war in Vietnam. A Democrat congress deliberately sacrificed an American ally to make war unpalatable to the American people. Exactly the strategy and tactics the left would have us apply in Iraq.

Home Page.

Rejoice!! The Democrats are about to win big... And their plan will be....STAY THE COURSE on everything we say to stay the course on...

I know you Republicans will just fall in line the way you have been demanding for years every one to do at the command "Stay the Course".... So, "Stay the Course" and just follow Democrats wherever they go OK?

HEY!! I admit it, Stay the Course is a brilliant plan for everithing so that can work for us also. Don't feel bad at least... Rumsfeld does not work for us. And if you don't want to stay the course with the Democrats? Well you are "Cutting and Running " of course!!! Like the Democratic "Discourse" so far, I hope so because that as far as we got with you in power, so I am shure you'll understand.

You know for all the name calling by Republicans there is one undeniable fact here, and it is that it took the Republicans 12 years to loose what the Democrats held for 40 years.... Now you know who the real idiots were.

An old cartoon comes to mind. It shows Bush marching in front of his "troops", Republican Right Wingers straight into a precipice while saying "We have to stay the Course".... At the bottom of the cliff the word Iraq can be seeen.... BYe Bye Republicans hope you know how to fly....
Because your "Leader" just crashed and burned.

Hey Dan,
To quote the Vice President of the United States: "Go F*** yourself". Why don't you contribute positively to the debate around American politics? The Republican party that I voted for in 1988 is gone. Vanished. You merely aid and abett this right-wing regime by demeaning the democratic party.
Fiscal conservative? Nowhere in this Administration. Minimal government intrusion in my life? Gone. Oh, this is just the beginning wave. 2008 will be a whopper of a democratic win.

Your little temper tantrum is the cherry on the cupcake of my day. I think I'll mark this site for my kids so we can all have a lovely laugh tomorrow.

Look at me, I'm a Republican cocksucker! WAAAAAAAAAAA!!

LOL

The Democrats hardly needed a platform to win this election - the Republicans have put this country into a very deep hole in the last four years. If all the Democrats do in the next two is take away George W. Bush's shovel, it'll still be a net win for the American people.

First of all, as a secular liberal Democrat, I want to celebrate the complete and utter ruination of Rick Santorum - one of the worst excuses for a human being I've ever seen. Bye, Ricky. Don't let the door hitya. Chris Chocula? America rejoices that we've seen the last of his ugly mug.

Second, It's time to welcome the terrorists. They've won. If you have a guest room in your home, there's a terrorist who needs it more than you do. Donate to the Hamas or Hezbollah support group of your choice. Learn Arabic and hey, for the last time, please, it's Allahu al Akbar!, NOT Allahu el Akbar - get it right, people.

I don't think I've ever heard anything more arrogant than Pelosi the other day when she basically said, "The numbers are there. If we get an honest count."

Really? I recall Dubya proudly proclaiming: We've earned political capital and I intend to spend it"
