The Unedited Kerry Video
Allah has the unedited Kerry video here so you can see his comments in context. I have a slightly different view after watching it.
I don't think he was specifically talking about the troops, but I don't think he was talking about Bush specifically, either. I think he did say just what he meant to say. And I see that as everyone who agrees with him, Liberals, Dems, are too smart to be in Iraq and Republicans, conservatives, whatever, are somehow less intelligent and stuck in Iraq.
By default, I would conclude that that includes the troops. It demeans them for even believing in the fight which many of us do. I see his pathetic joke as broader than what I first believed. It was an insult to the troops, to the CIC and to you and me. It was Liberal elitism at its worst.
And since when is it funny to go to a college and call other people dumb, no matter who they are? Frankly, the man disgusts me. And given my current perceptions, his apology doesn't wash.

"I don't think he was specifically talking about the troops"
Are you effing KIDDING ME? Did Dan Riehl just cut and run? Did Dan Riehl just flip flop? Or was Dan Riehl full of crap to begin with?
I don't link to liberal sites on conservative blogs but:
http://firedoglake.com/
Meanwhile, Tony Snow was just on The Factor saying that John Kerry's apology was "sufficient."
Translation: We polled the tits off this pig and we were getting hammered. We wanted people to hear "Democrats hate our troops" and all they were hearing was "Iraq is a fucking mess."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Keep the nuance coming. Did he call the troops stupid or not?
Flip Flop Flip Flop.

Putting all Jaime's spin aside there are some questions every voter should think about between now and election day:
As difficult as things are in Iraq do you really want to surrender Iraq to al Qaeda?
Do you really think al Qaeda would not be emboldened if America cedes the battlefield to them in Iraq?
Would you rather fight al Qaeda here or there?
Do you agree with John Kerry that anyone who would put his neck on the line for his country is stupid?
Do you want to put in power a party that chose John Kerry as its leader two short years ago?

I did not mean to say Jaime that you weren't right when you acknowledged that, of course, he was talking about the troops and given his preppy background and long anti U.S. Military history, of course, he wasn't kidding.

Good points, Terry.
I agree that Kerry's insult was a microcosm of the much broader view liberals have of 'everyone else'.
That prig stood there and tried to shame precisely half his countrymen. Narcissicism evolved into personality disorder.

"Tony Snow was just on The Factor saying that John Kerry's apology was "sufficient."
I don't give a rats butt what Tony Snow thinks. See, on the Right Jamie, we tend to do our own thinking. You should try it some time, just rent a padded room. ; ))

"Would you rather fight al Qaeda here or there?"
If you think Al Qaeda can't fight us there and here or that fighting them in Iraq means we're safe here, then you are an absolute idiot.
"just rent a padded room"
I'm not the creepy sicko who's hobby is writing about dead or missing teenage girls.

No Jaime the idiots are those who think al Qaeda won't be emboldened and have a great recruiting vehicle if the U.S. leaves Iraq with its tail between its legs.
It's curious that you ignore what bin Laden himself has said.

"I did not mean to say Jaime that you weren't right when you acknowledged that, of course, he was talking about the troops"
Please link to where I ever acknowledged anything remotely like that. "I said what Kerry said was stupid".

TO REPEAT:
I said CASUALTIES. To be specific I wrote: "800 casualties this month alone. 800." 105 deaths (Another American died today while Dan Riehl tried to distract you with garbage) and apx. 700 wounded.
