Engineering senior Saad Saadi came dressed as a suicide bomber, or, as he alternately titled the costume, a "freedom martyr." Gutmann said she dressed as Glinda this year because she wanted to be something that was connected to Penn.

For all we know, Amy Guttman saw a student through her peripheral vision and posed instinctively. For all we know, Saad doesn't support suicide bombing. College kids don't always necessarily have a penchant for realizing the impact of what they do on others. This whole incident has nothing to do with liberals in general, a "liberal" university that includes the Wharton School of Business and probably therefore has a higher proportion of conservatives than other northeastern universities, or alleged liberal bias in academia. And it sure as hell has nothing to do with NAMBLA or the Teamsters. Jaime, I am ashamed to say that I'm somewhat impressed by your creativity.
