NY Times Story Just Got Much Worse
I went back and rummaged through some old files I had downloaded from the Operation Iraqi Freedom Document Portal when it first went on line. I can't believe I over looked this. But as the NY Times has been all over it, I guess there's no point in trying to keep it secret now. So, I figured I'd just post it, who could it hurt?

While the mindless MSM howls at the moon over Global Warming and Iraqi nuke memos, it is strangely silent about the fact that the foiled "soft drink plot" a couple of months ago is being unravelled despite the efforts of the Mainstream Media to 1] deny a terrorist threat exists 2] blame Bush for preventing terrorist attacks [since they don't exist] and 3] claim that the Iraq War made the terrorists do what point #1 denies they are attempting to do!
Surely the Pulitzer Committee is going to give Kate Zernike a prize for spinning the Kerry "botched" attack on American troops into something else.
But will they have another category for ignoring a "botched" attack on US cities that might have killed tens of thousands of people?

Saddam's-Bomb By Shyam Bhatia and Daniel McGrory

I think the Russian Gazetera article says a bit more about Saddam's associations than an ancient picture of Rumsfeld with Saddam: http://gazeta.ru/2003/04/02/Wedidntflyto.shtml
I mean Russian Generals receiving awards from Saddam just prior to the invasion seem to speak a lot more about the Russian involvement there than the US one.
And the truly idiotic meme of the 'US creating Saddam' is falsified by who supplied him, supported him and generally ensured that he had the instruments of butchery, which I went over way back when when I ran the numbers on that and a few other things, like the average daily death toll due to Saddam's hubris: http://ajacksonian.blogspot.com/2006/01/running-with-numbers-and-other.html
And I think that we have readily repaid Saddam back for the 0.45% of the arms sales to him between 1973-90. And since it was 0% thereafter, the miniscule amount that the US gave to prop him up really is dwarfed by: USSR/Warsaw Pact, France, China and Egypt. All of which were huge exporters of arms and equipment to Saddam. And good riddance to it.
Killing toxic memes seems to be necessary today, so lets add a few more to the scrap heap. Like the Jay Garner ones in which he really, really wants the Old Iraqi Army and Government to help in transition, except NO ONE could find it. So each and every post-war plan depended absolutely and positively on that very thing and it wasn't there. Just point out the tens of thousands of soldiers that stood with their units on an orderly 'stand down' and awaiting demobilization. You can't because they are not there. Neither was the Government: http://ajacksonian.blogspot.com/2006/10/putting-toxic-memes-of-jay-garner-to.html
NO ONE planned on the vaporization of the Iraqi Military, Police and Government. And then we threw out every plan that had been tried before to deal with insurgencies that *didn't* work, like the infamous 'oil drop' method which just makes insurgents dispersed to the point you can never get rid of them, and then tried something different. Actually, lots of different things and stuck with what worked. And we are still doing so to this day, if you bother to actually read the *military* reports from MNF-Iraq or CENTCOM. The basic overview and getting rid of a whole other host of toxic memes, here: http://ajacksonian.blogspot.com/2006/10/what-is-strategy-in-iraq.html
Don't like the way its going? Find a strategy to stabilize Iraq that takes its diversity into account: familial, ethnic, tribal, cultural, multisectarian, factions, grudges, criminal groups... what, complex? Really? Well, there is a way to get rid of the worst of it and do a few other things, but its a plan that everyone will hate, because it only BEGINS getting to the source of the problem: http://ajacksonian.blogspot.com/2006/10/plan-to-stabilize-iraq.html
Define the problem. See how it is being worked. See *what* works. See what the enemies are doing. See the support structures. See the long term threats. Then address them *all* as best as possible with the solution space left to the Nation.
Can't do *that*? Then quit complaining and help to build the Republic. Tearing it down will only get us all a worse world, with the butcher on the doorstep with a much nastier bill to be paid off by then. Because that is exactly what happened the last time the US did so and the enemy *then* was at least civilized: http://ajacksonian.blogspot.com/2006/09/long-term-consequences-of-defeat.html

Awesome find Dan but Querry is really just jealous because W has the ultimate Arab lovers, the leaders of the country that 15 of the 19 hijackers came from:
AH look at them holding hands and making lovey eyes

Ya,
It really started going bad when Clinton bombed a country that was starving to death so that Kofi could steal the oil and, you know, I'm kinda angry Plame stole all that good Iraq stuff after the other one stole ALL MY STUFF in College, but, ya, you know, they tell you early on to stay out because they really are garbage; but why did his diplomat go to jail and Dr. WMD was freed by the Iraqi courts the day Plame posed for TIME(like in the magazine, not the machine or England's old Vanity Fair)all confused looking and, you know John, do they always sell you off to the enemy to be totally destroyed or what? Dictators are really starting to go down hill. You educate them in the US, get them a good enemy, sell them both weapons and make some cash. Even Fidel is getting old and the future just doesn't seem the same.

Well we won't have John Kerry to kick around in 2008. He cleary fell on his swords for the 'ole Skull and Bones crowd. Now the Dems still have Obama, Hillary, John Edwards and possibly one other candidate. Keep your eye on the ball.
Speaking of the republicans, my gut says they will win by a squeeker, but in '08 its anybody's guess.
Well done John Kerry, well done. Probably get a quiet job in the next administration.
We are all being fed people. Time to stand up and open your eyes.
