No doubt this will be a wasted effort, attempting to educate my more liberal readers. Based upon most of their comments, it's difficult to conclude that they can even read, let alone comprehend.
But, no matter, I'll give it a shot, as I am a generous sort of a guy.
psst - Liberals ... all this Kerry kraziness ..? Guess what? It isn't about Kerry ... not at all. It's about exposing Liberalism right before an election and Kerry stepped up and provided the perfect foil with which to do it.
And if you think it isn't going to have at least some impact come Nov. 7 ... even if its simply making a small defeat out of what could have been a disaster, well, that's because you are Liberals. And Liberals never understand most of America, or the majority of Americans.
And that's why you nominated Kerry to be useful idiot in chief when you nominated him for President in 2004. SCHWING!!!! Limited, perhaps ... but Bush beats Kerry, again!!!!!
And you could play the game a thousand times, it will always come out the same way in the end ... until you get it, of course, though I very much doubt you ever really will.
It is surpassingly strange to watch an industry will its own destruction. But stranger still if the culture within which it lives does not object to the design.

Democrats, here is a news flash just for you, you voted for the Iraq war, you voted to send the troops into battle there, you voted to oust Saddam Hussein, you do not get to draw a mulligan, no matter how hard you try. Hindsight does not substitute for wisdom, and second guessing is not a strategy.

Joe Biden offered up an Iraq plan. Jack Murtha offered up his own plan. Countless democrats have blanketed the airwaves with their own plans people like you, bill, have shut your eyes and yelled at the top of your lungs that "DEMOCRATS DON'T HAVE A PLAN". If there is a Democratic plan and Republicans purposefully chose to ignore it, you can keep the talking point ad infinitum.
I'd prefer ANY plan than stay until Bush isn't president anymore. This isn't a bankrupt oil company. People died upholding Bush's failure and no Rich Arab Shiek is going to take his mess of his hands. Like the cowards the ENTIRE right wing has become, you and your bretheren are desperately indulging in Dolchstoss. This is Bush's war. He lied and manipulated to get it. He got all the funding and military support he needed and HE failed. You voted to keep this absolute trainwreck going. And now when damn near all hope is lost you are putting in the framework to blame the other guy.
