Updated: Where's Jack?

Bullsh/t! Come on, Kerry - be a man. You know how to get in front of a camera when you want to. Releasing a typed statement, what a feckless jerk. At least he's still political toast.

But he should have enough guts to look an audience in the eye and apologize. Weak, Kerry ... very, very weak. But what else would you expect from him?

Freakin' loser. Poorly stated joke? Right. What a load.

As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.

I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.

It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I don’t want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.

Breaking via Drudge: Kerry: PULLS OUT OF CNN INTERVIEW WITH WOLF BLITZER...

Man, Kerry pulls out of everything. Are those really his kids? Just sayin'... and no it wasn't an apology. As if a Liberal would get that. Kerry is running scared and it suits him pretty well.

Where's Jack Murtha, not to mention Jim Webb? And no, that lame call in to Imus by Kerry wasn't a sufficient apology. Calling in to his buddy to set the record straight? Puhlease. At least he could have dressed himself and gotten out of bed. It's only his political ambitions he flushed down the john. So, like I said, where is Murtha anyway? Digging around for that ABSCAM dough? You can support Irey here. She, unlike Murtha, deserves it.

You can support Allen, who also deserves it, through his blog here.

What are we at 13?

Keep pushing. I want to see 50 posts by Tuesday.

My guess, Jaime, is that Dan put the hook in your mouth and he's laughing at you now.

Don't worry, it will all come out at your sanity hearing.

In other news, the U.S. military abandoned a kidnapped Soldier in Sadr city today. It could be your kid who's abandoned the next time. Would you be crying about how everything is Nancy Pelosi's fault? Your vote. Your president. Your policy. Your failure.

Keep clapping tinkerbell.

James,

Hey, I just saw that Kerry blew another gasket and told the Seattle paper that Bush sets up straw men b/c he "won't debate a real man." I think I agree.

That dumbass Kerry wants people to believe he was talking about Pres. Bush ... when Bush did better than Kerry did at Yale?! You people deserve the goons you elect. And only the phonies in close races in red states call for him to apologize. I mean, we may be dumb but we are not as dumb as Democrats.

But I like your comment. You blame the military for "abandoning" a soldier. "Your (our) policy ... I thought it was the American military in Iraq, the same one that John Kerry authorized to go there. There you go again. You people hate the military and your ticked b/c Kerry outed you.

You don't care much for the country, either. This explains why you hide your standard bearers as election day draws near.

Jaime, the US military wouldn't abandon a kidnapped soldier. You didn't serve if you believe it's this simple. The US military should not be faulted for Iraq -- it is instead the fault of the neocons amd other opportunists who manipulated Bush.

As far as Kerry goes, I like the point made by someone posting at youtube. If a rich, well-connected elite like Kerry really hated the troops, he would have gotten a deferment like Cheney, or would have taken one of the other routes preferred by today's Chickenhawks. Kerry may be an out-of-touch, arrogant, privileged elitist (I knew someone who chauffered Kerry a couple of times and said that he treated him like something stuck to the bottom of his shoe), but anyone who tries to spin this to make it look as though Kerry hates the troops is playing a dirty political trick.

WWU Vet,

Listen, history did not begin in '04. Kerry has been bashing America's military for 35 years!! Have you ever heard of "The New Soldier"? Google it. Read it. Have you never heard of his lying Senate testimony? He made his political career by slandering our troops and his own comrades.

Have you not heard that Kerry called our troops the equivalent of terrorists earlier this year? He has done this forever, and his hatred of the military is used to rally the anti-military, anti-American Demo base.

Again, we former military types may be dumb, but we are not Democrats.

You should spend a little less time spaying cats and more time following history.

My apologies WWU...I do mean the Administration. I do blame the neocons and others that manipulated bush "Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc." and not the military. It's not the troops prerogative to abandon Sadr city a second time.

If John Kerry hated the troops DC, why did he spend so much time (with John McCain) trying to recover American remains from Vietnam?

Dear DC,

I am not a Democrat, and voted neither for Kerry nor his service-evading major party foe last election.

Kerry, in fact, said that there was "no need" for "young Americans" to be "terrorizing kids." Though this was a poor choice of words given the way the "T" word has become so loaded and politically charged, he was if anything criticizing the way young Americans are being used over there. In fact, he repeatedly emphasized endangerment to US troops in Iraq. Those remarks didn't sound like they came from someone who "hated" American soldiers.

Re: his efforts at recovering troop remains, I suppose he did that for the same reason he is "apologizing" now.

WWU Vet,

Your words belie you. I don't believe that you are not a Demo. I didn't fall off a turnip truck, although I was dumb enough to sign up for the USMC. You give Kerry every benefit of every nuance in his words ... but what about what he has said since 1971?

What about "The New Soldier?" Have you read it? I have. What about his Senate testimony, for which he never apologized? See, we who love and respect the military have a sense about those who don't. If Kerry made one off-handed comment that was out of character for his career, that would be one thing.

His political career was built on the backs of his comrades whom he betrayed. That's what got him started as a political figure in the first place. And he went to Yale claiming that he was going into politics right after the Navy.

Don't kid a kidder. We know exactly what Kerry and his ilk think about the military. He has told us many times. And it was again on full display in LA the other day.

Yeah. He openly hates the troops and thinks their all murderers.

That's why he fought for the Body armor and HumVee armor that the Bush administration took its sweet ass time in providing the troops. Because he hates the troops.

It all makes perfect sense. Just like...if we stayed in Vietnam another 10 years and killed another million of them we woulda won. I'm sure of it.

Dear DC,

I am in Washington State and therefore do not formally register to vote for either party. In primaries you have to vote for members of the same party. Sometimes I choose to vote in the Republican primary, and sometimes I vote Democratic, though lately I've been trending towards Libertarian candidates. I voted for Michael Badnarik in 2004. The last time I was in a state in which registration by party was a formal process I registered as a Republican, though I freely admit now that I don't affiliate with either party now and consider myself to be an independent.

FYI, many, many Republicans were NOT in favor of this war. Brent Scowcroft and Colin Powell were two of the more prominent Republican thinkers who knew it would be a mistake, though the latter did an excellent job of backing up his boss once it had started. I also know a fair number of Democrats who WERE in favor of the war, a few of whom were extremely liberal.

The Neocons aren't, by necessity, Republicans, and you can go to the Project For A New America website to see that they urged Clinton to do the very thing they succeeded in having Bush do.

Your partisan-thinking has you confined in an intellectual box. Too bad.

Ooops. THIS is shitting on the military.

"GOP HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER JOHN BOEHNER: Let's not blame what's happening in Iraq on Rumsfeld.

WOLF BLITZER: But he's in charge of the military.

BOEHNER: But the fact is, the generals on the ground are in charge, and he works closely with them and the president."

It's the Generals fault Iraq is fucked up. Ahhh...Election time. Noise to Signal Ration is through the roof.

Actually Jaime it's the fault of people like you. People who vote for a party that votes for a war and then wants to surrender when the going gets tough. If the insurgents weren't convinced your party will cut and run they would have given up by now. A few thousand terrorists will defeat the world's most lethal military? I don't think so. But dhimmicrats and MSM might.

Insurgent want to kill the foreigners on their land. That's it.

Blaming the people criticizing your piece of shit king and his miserable failure of a policy is the ultimate in cowardice.

"A few thousand terrorists will defeat the world's most lethal military?"

There are 30,000 insurgents, and thousands upon thousands of rival militiamen not to mention the 15 million Iraqis that want us dead. Did the English believe a few thousand Americans would defeat the world's most lethal military?

The Dan Riehls of the time were bitching about the terrorists who would fight with craven tactics like...hiding behind trees.

Jaime.

"Insurgent (sic) want to kill the foreigners on their land. That's it."

Really? Are you too naive to understand they want to impose their will on their country? We leave as soon as the killing stops so if it was simply a matter of wanting us to leave they would stop the killing. Last month they killed 3000 of their own and 100 of us. They want to depose the democratically elected government and regain control of Iraq.

And people like you think this won't embolden the terrorists? You can't see beyond the end of your nose.

You clearly can't count and clearly are too partisan to think.

That shit worked 2 years ago. We're still there and the insurgents aren't leaving.

The people voted along tribal lines. There in no real Iraqi government. It doesn't exist except in the minds of the liars and the ignorant.

Emboldening the terrorists are the 150,000 troops working to secure reconstruction jobs for American companies. Emboldening the terrorists is a retard president who says that victory is staying practically forever.

The policy you voted for has for all intents and purposes failed. The only way to force a change and get accountability is to END Bush's presidency on Nov. 7th. Anything else says you like how things are going or want to keep the status quo.

"Emboldening the terrorists are the 150,000 troops working to secure reconstruction jobs for American companies."

And I mean this as how an Iraqi sees our occupation there.
