In Today's News
I'll be blogging later. For now, Jules Crittenden weighs in on the Bush / Maliki meeting. But as for this,
The bipartisan Iraq Study Group reached a consensus on Wednesday on a final report that will call for a gradual pullback of the 15 American combat brigades now in Iraq but stop short of setting a firm timetable for their withdrawal …
I'd refer you to the lost Roosevelt Eisenhower memo.
-- About those German camps you've scouted out, Ike. We've been taking some losses, so just pull back to the wood line and we'll see what develops. I'll get back to you after the next election.
Exactly the type of worthless watered down piece of crap one would expect from a bi-partisan commission. I'm unaware of any President in history who needed a civilian commission to wage a war.
Remember to check out Jules on Iraq.

I am still waiting for someone to please explain to me just why Vernon Jordan sat on that committee.
Or Leon Panetta
Or Ed Meese
Or Sandra Day O'Connor
It would seem intuitive that members of the military (past & present), experts on strategy, experts on logistics, experts on Islamic history and Middle East affairs, should be on such a committee, instead of a bunch of lawyers, shysters and power brokers.
But what do I know?
We knew that whatever came from such a collection of political hacks, has been politicians and one real nice old lady would not amount to much.
In case you haven't seen ... the Dems, whose platform included implementation of all the bipartisan 9/11 committee recommendations are NOW saying they will only put in place the ones that benefit them.
Those same Dems have been waiting with bated breath for this so called Iraq Study Group's findings, and saying they would abide by its recommendations.
Riiight.
Running a war by committee is like making love by committee - nothing good is gonna come.

So... there are camps in Iraq?
What exactly is your point? Bush has had six years and he's screwed it right up, he should be allowed to continue?

We're on our way out of Iraq. Thank god democrats won, or we'd be there forever. Like Bill Maher said at his stand up gig, BUSH lost the war. Enough said! Except that he's encouraging people to show their patriotism and love of country by making fun of, ridiculing and lambasting Bush. My sons classmates at UF are all wearing Tshirts with Bush with his head up his ###. Funny.
