Dem Chickens Coming Home To Roost
Breaking: Retired General calls for Kerry to resign.
While many Democrats like John Tester and Harold Ford, Jr. are attempting to distance themselves from John Kerry, who apparently doesn't have a simple apology seared into his ex-presidential candidate's brain, there may be too much history for Democrats to come away without being damaged as a party by Kerry's remarks.
Ford has an appearance with Bill Clinton, but Clinton has a problem, too.
Corker Campaign Preempts Clinton-Ford Appearance By Airing New Ad Slamming Terrorist Pardon - Ford Blasted for Being Only TN Congressman Not Opposing Clinton Pardon Of 16 Terrorists Responsible for 150 Bombings, 6 Deaths in U.S.
Jack Murtha and Kerry are only two in a long line of Democrats who have undermined our troops through constantly bashing the Commander-in-Chief during a time of war. For those above it all conservative pundits looking to cut Kerry a break, who was cutting Republicans a break while the Left and the media had a field day at the expense of our over all war effort for two years?
We can start cutting breaks after November 7, right now it's time to fight. And the GOP is looking to capitalize to the fullest extent on Kerry's slight of the troops, this time, intended, or not, as well they should. Kerry has a three-decade history of slamming American troops.
It isn't the first time for Kerry and Kerry is far from the only Democrat who has used the worst kind of arguably unpatriotic demagogy to hammer Bush and, as a result, our military and their tremendous efforts in Iraq. Ultimately, the Democrat's weakness in fighting terrorism is a big enough threat to America to, in this case, justify doing, within reason, what it takes to get in their way of taking control. Given Kerry's sad history, using him as a lever is reasonable beyond all doubt.
Take a look at the new GOP ad at Hot Air. It's time to tell people like John Kerry we've had enough. It's time for him to apologize, sit down and then shut up.

Retired Generals are getting old.
Al gore's global warming is doing well. The PM is meeting with Jack and the NDP(we have to pull out)on climate change legislation, but Blair just starts screaming for money every time dems go up in the poles or is that a G8 GDP tax?
Clinton goes to Canada for cash alot and now Carvelle was just up there scaring everyone who is'nt a Liberal(they all are now) as they vote in our local elections-not that anyone wants pain, strokes, heart attacks or strange accidents.

I'm glad we are finally putting the focus in this election where it belongs--on John Kerry instead of President Bush and the War in Iraq.

Kerry has to get in line behind Rummy,
who's way ahead of Kerry in the Retired General Resign! Sweepstakes
the Iraq quagmire is not a War, try
Invasion & Occupation
Using the correct language clarifies things a little.
The Invasion went swimmingly.
The Occupation, not.

This isn't just about politics this issue is about how Senator Kerry has denigrated the men and women who serve. If he botched a joke he should have apologized immediately and this would be a non-issue. As it stands now we are in the second or third news cycle and this is still the top story.

These are all people who already hated Kerry. The Kerry hates the troops meme doesn't work when you've got a Rubber stamp congress that has led out troops into a near unwinnable quagmire.
"the Iraq quagmire is not a War"
I see things differently. Much of the violence we see now is being generated by the Iraqi soldiers we let run away from the battlefield without killing or detaining them.
The occupation is such a disaster BECAUSE the invasion went so swimmingly.

Jaime,
Senator Kerry is one of those who voted for the action in Iraq and then he voted against funding the war - so I hope you are also referring to his political action in the political rubber stamping.
And on to something we actually agree on - somewhat:
"I see things differently. Much of the violence we see now is being generated by the Iraqi soldiers we let run away from the battlefield without killing or detaining them."
The majority of the violence in Iraq today is being generated by AQ in Iraq and "shia troops" from Iran - this is common knowledge. However they are working with the Hussein's old guard.

YEah. Yeah. Before it vs. Against it. The talking point designed for those who know nothing about how the Senate votes on bil. Either way, you're right. I will NOT vote for Kerry this election. You've changed my mind. Thanks.
"The majority of the violence in Iraq today is being generated by AQ in Iraq and "shia troops" from Iran"
Al Qaeda only accounts for less than 10 percent of the Insurgency. The violence is between Sunni and Shiite materializing as reprisal killings and Shi'a warlords like Al-Sadr fighting for control of their turf.
We let the (Sunni dominated) Iraqi military melt into populace. In fact Saddam Hussein has admitted that this was part of the post-Invasion strategy.

Jaime,
I didn't realize you were so daft as to believe that Kerry was on the ticket - unless this was your attempt at a botched joke ;) Of course you were attempting sarcasm - so sorry it failed just like Kerry's little attempt at humor.
I never said that the majority was AQI I said that AQI "AND"...it's the small details. The violence created by AQI is out of proportion with their numbers in Iraq and they are trying to goad the Shias and the Sunnis into fighting each other and to an extent AQI has succeeded. Also much of the increase in the violence in Iraq over the past month has been designed to influence the elections in the US.
Also, just to let you know there are significant numbers of Shias and Sunnis from Saddam's former army that are working with the coalition troops. So they aren't all bad.

"I didn't realize you were so daft as to believe that Kerry was on the ticket"
This coming from the same people who said "Scooter Libby isn't on the ballot" when the whole BS Webb flap came about. The problem with your side is...your making this about John Kerry and John Kerry only. It can only work against the Democrats if you make it into about the 400+ Dems running for Congress.
But if you notice on every righty site, especially this one, it's ALL about how Kerry is an idiot and ONLy about that.

Jaime,
Perhaps this and other 'righty' sites are focusing on what John Kerry said(it is prime time news after-all)but so are the other sites just look at what kos, mydd, atrios, downwithtyranny, sadlyno (all on the far-left) are writing: they believe that Harold Ford and Hillary Clinton should be "punished" for urging Kerry to apologize. They are threatening to "punish" them for "attacking" a fellow democrat - actually it sounds just like what they tried to do to Senator Lieberman (who is a good man) because he refused to espouse their virulent anti-war views.
Unfortunately as I wrote earlier, Senator Kerry brought this public relations nightmare upon himself and escalated it into a national issue when he refused to apologize to the troops. He failed to take responsibility for his actions because he's politically ignorant unlike Clinton or Ford who were smart enough to know that his remarks were beginning to hurt the image of democrats everywhere. Thank god, Senator Clinton, Rep. Ford and a handful of other democratic politicians raised to the occasion and saved the democratic party from suffering a huge black eye - all because Senator Kerry is a bonifide idiot.
and as far as your comment

I have no clue what you mean - what people? My side? You don't know me. Perhaps, you need to stop generalizing and trying to label people who don't agree with your belief system. It would be like me calling you one of those "foul-mouthed, military-hating, terrorist-embracing birkenstock-wearing, berkeley drop-out hippies" but I don't because I don't know you. If people would just take the time to be civil to each other, stop labeling each other and respect each other by attacking the argument instead of the person than we would actually make progress.
I don't always agree with what Dan writes here but you will never find me attacking Dan or other commenters here - which is something I can't say for you and others. Maybe if you treated Dan with respect he would return the respect.
