ACORN Members Indicted For Vote Fraud
In Missouri, can you say Claire McCaskill? I could. Here and here. Read about the breaking story at Gateway Pundit
Four people have been indicted on charges of voter fraud in Kansas City, officials said Wednesday.
Investigators said about 35,000 questionable registration forms for new voters were collected by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a group that works to improve minority and low-income communities.
The four indicted -- Kwaim A. Stenson, Dale D. Franklin, Stephanie L. Davis and Brian Gardner -- were employed by ACORN as registration recruiters.

"ACORN says it's happy the indictments were handed up -- they say they provided the names of three of the four indicted individuals, who, they say, no longer work for ACORN."
Good for them

I live in Missouri and am much more familiar with the situation. Do you know this is old news? This has been under discussion for over a month. Isn't this interesting how this just now came out as news in weblogs? Timing, I guess. Doesn't say much that Republicans have to resort to this because they don't have anything else to offer.
ACORN has had problems in the past, and in the past mistakes have also been made. That's neither here nor there, and the organization will have to manage on their own.
HOWEVER, whether you like McCaskill or not, she's one damn smart woman, and very experienced and politically savvy. She knows for a fact that any association between her and ACORN would not be to her advantage.
Do you know how many poor people there are in this state? This state has one of the lowest incomes per households in the country. Here's an organization that says, fill in these forms and you get so much for each. Was this a deliberate attempt to defraud the government and overthrow the election. Unlikely--this was more a case of some not very educated workers doing what they shouldn't have done. and yes, ACORN not supervising them well.
Regardless, no way is McCaskill associated with this. I would suggest you tell Mr. Talent to try and run under his own banner rather than taking down McCaskill. We in the state are sick of the daily mailings from the Republican party, most of which information contained in them has been proven to be inaccurate.
I would also suggest that you get your facts straight, or write about what you had for lunch.

vote fraud is the 800-lb gorilla hiding in the closet that the dems absolutely, positively do not want talked about. (see above)
i suppose there may be some gop fraud out there, but it's a safe bet that pretty much every democrat big-city machine engages in it. chicago's famous for dead dems voting: the chicago 'graveyard precincts' vote was what got jfk elected in 1960, after all. other democrat vote fraud hotbeds are known to be atlanta, houston, cleveland, and.....st. louis! need the polls kept open late in 99% dem neighborhoods? no problem! democrat 'helpers' walking into the voting booth to 'help' old folks and illegals fill out their ballots 'correctly'? you got it! vans driven into the slums to ferry 'voters' to the polls in return for a couple of cigarettes and some mad dog?
yes, that would be democrat politicking 101.
and that's just the stuff that gets reported on. vote fraud is one of the clear signs that a nation is becoming/already a banana republic, and the gop, at least, seems to be trying to make attempts to curb it. one common-sense way to do it is voter ID. the dems, of course, are fighting this tooth and nail, all the while denying there's any problem in the first place. (see above)
the idiot kerry's big mouth is a lovely gift to the gop, to be sure, and well worth talking about a LOT as the election draws nigh. but vote fraud is the biggie, and needs a LOT more sunlight directed its way.

I am a Missourian and I say this story hasn't been covered enough. No matter what those liberals want you to believe they are vastly outnumbered by Conservatives in Missouri. We are middle American patriots and voter fraud is unacceptable to us.
The above posts looks to me like a scared ACORN worker/liberal sympathizer wanting to hide the truth from Missourians.
The idea that ACORN could turn in 35,000 fraudulant voter registrations and call them an 'honest mistake' is outrageous. Are they so desperate to elect Clueless Claire or to pass the assine cloning amendment? I can't decide which is more horrifying.

Did these folks get paid for each new registration? I would guess they were, as that's been ACORN's modus operandi. And that can be a powerful motivation to register...anyone...living, dead, or non-existant.
On the bright side, if they can pass the cloning amendment, then they can make 35,000 more voters... ;-)

Just an addendum. The Democrat controlled Congress just refused a bill to require voter ID.
Gee, what a shock. I wonder what the idiot Purple Avenger has to say now?
