Webb / Allen: The Great Double Standard

Update: I wonder if Webb's mysterious read  non-existent plan includes killing all those towel-heads?

h/t to an older NewsBusters post.

via the WaPo:

Jim Webb: "Towel-heads and rednecks -- of which I am one. If you write that word, please say that. I mean, I don't use that pejoratively, I use it defensively. Towel-heads and rednecks became the easy villains in so many movies out there."

Regardless of the origin for Allen's now infamous macaca remark, it seems to me he immediately made it clear that he was joking around and didn't mean the word pejoratively. That's worth two weeks on the front page, but Webb's towel-head remark? Well, he was trying to make a point.

Yeah ... right. Undoubtedly just as when he, according to reliable testimony, took a training rifle into LA and aimed it at minorities.

Again, no actual plan of action in Iraq, simply a takeover in congress. Isn't something missing? Like..um.... an IDEA? A plan? How stupid do these people think the American public is? How are we supposed to trust him or the Democrats to find a soluti... [Read More]

How is this election going to shake out, Dan?

I may be delusional, but I really think the GOP will retain control.

The weather will suck in the East, thereby limiting Democratic turnout, the voters will get real once the curtains are drawn on the voting booth. Republicans AND moderates are scared shitless about Nancy Pelosi, and even a total idiot must know that a Democratic majority in either house will result in a massive recession.

I am so torn. The Republicans have been derelict and mindless, I almost want them to lose.

But then I contemplate the reality of a Democratic Congress and I get nauseous.

We live in perilous times, amigo.

I really think the GOP will retain control.

Hard to say, Buddy. I think they'll keep the Senate. I think the House could go any which way from Dem's up by a slim majority to the R's just holding on. Turn out will be the key, but some names and faces we know are probably already gone.

Welp, I think the weather will play a major role this time.

The models I see show some serious snow in your neck of the woods on election day.

I blame El Nino and Karl Rove.

Maybe that's why he ran as a Democrat. They forgive anything that would cost a Republican the election. Sometimes I think they'd welcome David Duke if he had a chance of winning office.

For a first-time candidate, you can't beat their broadmindedness. With so much money from Hollywood, it would be difficult for them to be finicky.

Webb is actually quite correct. Muslims are played as terrorists or as something derogatory (hence towel head) and southern rural folks are always portrayed as the bad guy. If you want towel head used pejoratively you'll see it about a thousand times a day on FreeRepublic, Little Green Footballs, and Redstate.

Hey, I thought righties hated fake PC outrage. You do it so well.

BRAVO jaime

could someone tell me how all those guys on the public payroll have time to write novels?

Jaime: Obviously, you don't read. Perhaps video would be better.
