He has admitted to slacking his meds to appear before Congress.

I saw a news clip of him the very next day after that ad was filmed.

He walked a greeting line and shook hands just fine.

He didn't shake at all.

I have a bit of a problem with ... shaking if I don't keep my meds in line.

Not Parkinson's, but still shaky.

I am real sorry he has his disease.

But for him to employ his disease thus is ... repugnant beyond belief.

Let me put it into perspective.

He chose to 'portray' his shaking, his palsy, his disease.

Call it 'character' acting. He got into the role.

I have zero sympathy for his affliction, knowing that he is willing to use it to further his own political bent.

And the worst of it all, is that he is absolutely wrong.

Stem cells are readily available without the Missouri law.

If anyone wants to actually know the truth ... Google the contributors to that campaign.

One single laboratory has spent 28 million dollars to make the cloning of embyonic cell material a CONSTITUTIONAL EDICT.

I get so very tired of stupid people with limited knowledge having opinions they have no right to have.

Fuck 'em.

I have a dear friend with Parkinson's. Her medicines make her tremors worse, not better. If she is off her meds for any reason, she tends to stiffen up - not jerk and flail about. That's one of the oddities of Parkinson's. For most people with Parkinson's, the meds send the signals which give them more mobility, and sometimes uncontrolled movement. Stress and other factors can influence her tremors on a daily basis as well. For people to assume that Michael J. Fox can manipulate his physical reactions so precisely is overreaching on their part. Most Parkinson's patients don't have that level of control - that ever diminishing control is the tragedy of their disease.

raindrops...they don't give a fuck. They stand under Rush's butt to swallow whatever comes out.

They know that Fox has admitted to going off his meds before congress.

They know that Fox TOLD CONGRESS he had done so.

They know that Parkinson's is a degenerative disease and this testimony was years ago.

They know that shaking is a side effects of their medication.

They don't know anyone with Parkinson's or any doctors and prey to Jesus any one who read's their blogs or listens to their radio shows don't either.

Steel Truman, I hope you get Parkinsons, let me come visit you in ten years and tell you "Fuck You ,liar" to your face. You deserve nothing less.

This Michael J. Fox thing is great. It reveals people like Rush Limbaugh and Dan Riehl for what they are. And it's not a pretty sight.

How exactly is supporting stem cell research going to destroy the US medical establishment?
You'll also note he's supported Republican candidates.
Even if every single candidate he supported was elected, it'd not suddenly cause Universal Health Care to suddenly come into being.

Did you even have an argument, or were you just going to make some claim about him being rich?
Or your supposed vast knowledge about Parkinson's - such as how you know how medications are managed for it, the side effects of the medications, or anything besides your own myopic view?

Dan Im now convinced you find fault with anyone who isnt a republican.
Such prejudice is ignorant. How can anyone find fault with Michael J
Fox? Its unamerican!!! Rush must be going through another withdrawal.

Man, Riehl - you are SUCH A PRICK.

I hope you have Parkinson's somewhere in your sick, messed up genes, and begin to shake in a few years.

My grandfather has Parkinson's, you asshole. The medicine they take makes them shake like that, so if Fox was shaking, it's because HE TOOK HIS MEDICINE, you moron.

You heartless little prick. Katie, above, was right - you find fault with someone because he isn't a bushite sycophant little brownshirt like yourself.

Go ahead an endorse RUSH LIMBAUGH of all people, a pill-popping viagra-sex-tour fat ass. Really makes you look credible, you fool.

Man, Riehl - you are ...

You okay? You sound a little shook up?

it just shows that Dan and the Republicans are willing to swift boat ANYONE for ANY REASON.

Even accuse a man with an incurable illness of "acting" like, well a man with an incurable illness.

Becuase it just cannot be that Fox is really as ill as he seemed or that instead of being a dupe of the Dems he really, really, truly believes that stem cell research is important.

I've never heard of any other disease survivor being accused of shilling for anyone...should we also be disgusted at all those cancer survivors on TV shilling for the pharmaceutical companies? all those survivors out there lobbying politicians for more money to research their diseas? Rape victims for asking for funding to support rape victims?

Nothing, nothing is too low for the Republicans.

The right claims that the left "uses" people who are "victims" as spokespeople because they are "unassailable". Then people like you, Rush, Coulter, Malkin, et al launch the most excarble personal attacks. You couldn't be bothered in this odious screed to address a single substantial policy issue. All you are doing is venting your personal bile on an individual with the courage to speak from the heart on an important medical issue. Shameful!

This business isn't *about* Parkinson's. It's about a man who is willing to make a joke of himself on national TV in an effort to promote a political candidate. That's it. He made that ad to promote a particular person.

Why didn't he just buy some ad time and beg ALL the candidates to support any research that will help Parkinson's?

Parkinson's disease is an equal opportunity disease. Treat it as such and maybe republicans and democrats who know someone with the disease will think alike in contrast to this sudden schism caused by M.J. Fox. Sounds reasonable. Too reasonable, I guess, for those of you who mock others insisting they know nothing of the disease.

Steel's mother is dying of it as I type.

My father has it and will die of it.

So, any of you fools who want to challenge my right to mock a fool for playing political games, bring it on.

Yep, what she said.

I will add this ...

Dan? Are you secretly paying these morons to come troll?

It's just not fair.

How come you get to have all the fun?

"It's about a man who is willing to make a joke of himself on national TV in an effort to promote a political candidate. That's it. He made that ad to promote a particular person."

Oh...you mean Arlen Specter? The Republican? It's funny Michael J. Fox helps a Republican get elected and not a word from Dan Riehl and Rush Limbaugh. The moment he makes a similar ad from a Democrat, he's being used. So. Why no outrage in 2004? Maybe because you all are absoulutely full of shit this time.

Michael J. Fox showing the Dan Reihls and Larry's and Truman's of the world how a person with Parkinson's lives with a disease. It's a person rather than the ideological theory that attempts to equate this man to a clump of cells.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=F05T9cU8hxQ

Hahaha...he's swaying like a cripple. Look at Rush. He's funny. Acting all Cripple like the faker off his meds, Michael J Fox. That must make your father feel awesome. Is he off his meds, too? Megadittoes.

Anyone who opposes stem-cell research -- using fertilized ova that will otherwise be discarded -- but does not equally oppose in all vitro fertilization, IUDs and any other method of birth control that prevents implantion rather than preventing fertilization, should get off their high horse right now. Don't just mock Parkinson's victims, mock those childless couples, too. Pretty soon a critical mass of decent people will realize what heartless crackpots you are and stop feeding your self-righteous little egos.

Fuck you, you useless prick.

Fuck. You.

Here's hoping someone you love gets the same suffering, debilitating type of disease. Of course, with your track record, you'll dump them in a flophouse and forget all about them.

WB,

You mustn't confuse Dan and the rest of his cadre with facts, certainly not medical facts.

They have a tendency to get in the way of right thinking conservative dogma.

Yo jaime,

You're dyslexic, right?

Can. You. Read. The. Words. I. Am. Typing. In. Your. Face?

T U R M A N. <==== pay particular attention the sequence.

You dolt.

zzz ...

Man, you sure picked the appropriate moniker.

I strongly suggest a rectal lobotomy.

That ought to cure that little 'shit for brains' problem right up.

Dave?

Lost the old thesaurus again, didn't you?

Sorry, Dan.

I could not help myself.

If the trolls won't come the mountain ...

...I might as well shit on 'em here.

He was born in Canada and apparently has dual citizenship now allowing him to credibly politic in America.

Does that mean that Christopher Hitchens, who hasn't yet sworn the oath, isn't allowed to 'credibly politic' until he's naturalized? Because you've quoted him approvingly several times over the past few years. (Perhaps you're more sympathetic to his DTs when he's off his 80-proof meds.)

No I'm not dyslexic. The font is just kinda small and Turman isn't a common name.

But it's just like you to make fun of a dyslexic. Laughing at cripples who cut commercials for Democrats (and republicans...shhhh you can't be outragesd if you mention that) is your specialty.

Steel Turdman. Hahaha. I said "turd".

Have I found the level of the room yet?

By the way, I was a bit too harsh in my first comment to Dan. He did in fact address a policy issue. He did completely fail to address the real policy issue that MJF raised: whether or not to use zygotes (that are otherwise medical waste) to further research into treatments for various diseases and medical conditions.

However, Dan did address the completely imaginary issue of hordes of millionaire Canadians swarming across our northern frontier, intent on forcing the entire US medical establishment to be vassals of their cyborg overlords in Ottawa. Or something like that.

Well played, Dan.

BTW, stem cells were discovered in Canada.

That's a CanFact(tm) for the terminally stupid Dan "I shit my pants" Riehl.

This is just part and parcle of the new conservative gameplan; make disgusting, immoral personal attacks against every public figure who stands up to the right wing in order to "send a message;" if you stand against the mindless right, you're going to get hit. Its the gangsterization of the Republican party, and it is the main cause of the increasing polarization that this country is going through. Decorated marine a frequent hawk breaks with the Preznit? Attack!! Man with debilitating disease supports Democrat in crucial senate election? Attack!! I have one question, though, to ask the "Rieh"ists out there; does it feel good to attack a person like Michael J. Fox?
