The 7' 1" center is said to have taken part in a botched home raid ... reportedly the ISP provided authorities with the wrong IP address in a kiddie porn bust.
The basketball star has denied being present, but that seems to have been confirmed by deputies. I wonder if he's concerned over any liability issues, the homeowner is looking to file suit. Certainly, he wasn't in charge. But Shaq coming through your door in a vest?? lol I think I'd be looking to make a fast break of my own under those circumstances.
It wasn't until later authorities realized they had been given the wrong IP address, which Internet service providers can use to identify users, leading them to the wrong physical address, Harmony said. It was the Internet company's mistake, he said.
Shaquille O'Neal was present during a botched child pornography raid last month while working in Virginia as a reserve sheriff's deputy.
The Miami Heat center, who pursues his interest in law enforcement during the offseason, denied yesterday taking part in serving the search warrant at the wrong house Sept. 23. However, Bedford County Sheriff's Lt. Michael Harmony confirmed that O'Neal was there.

Shaq comes to my door leading a SWAT team, I'm going to take a fast train to Georgia.

Big Government comes and busts down MY door investigating me b/c of bad information and they'd BETTER have Shaq with them for their own good. Then again, he'd just be a bigger target for my gun.

He should've taken the feed from Wade, not the one provided.

this type of thing is really quite scary - it's too bad it only gets significant media notice because of the incidental presence of O'Neal. I can't imagine what it would be like to be sitting at home minding your own business and suddenly be staring at a vanload of cops...and then be accused of child pornography to boot. And all because of your ISP was incorrectly given to the authorities. Shaq's presence turns it into a bit of a farce, but I'll bet it was no joke to the folks sitting inside that house. Proud WWII Vet, I'm with you in spirit but I don't like your chances against the numbers. It would be bigger shame still to have the authorities apologizing to "next of kin". I wonder if perhaps authorities should have to meet a little higher standard of diligence in verifying actual addresses before conducting this type of raid. It's not like whoeverer they were after (and did eventually catch, I understand) is likely to be going anywhere. I guess I would like to know more details about the investigation that preceded the raid before assessing blame beyond the ISP provider.
