Hell, I'm not even opposed to stem cell research, however I am against public funding because I respect people who see it as a valid moral issue. What I can't respect is displacing science with emotion on issues of national import, something Fox deliberately set out to do - so I don't feel a need to worship at his scientifically shaky position, just now.

Meanwhile, as if one needed proof of how detached and utterly unhinged things have become in America's Liberal and media echo chamber, I give you President Barack Obama. Sorry if it sounds small minded, but I do think it a fact, at least for 2008, America is not going to opt to tune in at 9 PM to hear President Obama address the Nation from the Oval Office. In six or eight years, perhaps, who knows. But the notion that Barack Obama is now being touted as the new John Kennedy is crap.

Quick - beyond your possibly being aware that Obama gave a, to Democrats, deeply touching and inspirational speech, name one thing Obama has done?

Oh, that doesn't matter - he has STAR power. Great. Next thing you know they'll be comparing him to Reagan, while conveniently forgetting that Reagan honed his political skills and positions as the Governor of California and in so many others ways over a political career that spanned decades. Michael J. Fox may be holding out for the only hope to cure him. On a personal note I have two family members who's future health and well-being may depend on the success of stem cell cardiac regeneration. There is potential to develop healthy hearts from ADULT stem cells and I do support PRIVATE research whole-heartedly. What I don't support is Federal funding of stem cell research. First of all the government isn't the best organization to bring forth ground-breaking research - it's always been the private sector driven by competition that brings scientific and medical break-throughs to the public.

I agree that Fox was manipulating the ad's viewers but that doesn't give anyone the right to mock his illness as some other blogs have done. I actually was disgusted by the ad - I saw it for what it was - a blatant attempt at guilting people into voting to "save" him by voting for federally funded embryonic stem cell research. I have to review the content when they are done to make sure they haven't unintentionally changed my original write-up it in a way that compromises it's accuracy. Nothing earth-shaking, my heavy lifting on this stuff was finished about a month ago, so my role is rather small for the next few weeks...the new Temps won't get any "Tax" training until they have been immersed from the "Tech" side. But, small though it currently is it still needs to be done...and done properly...which I just cannot do while trying to give you lessons in civility and logic...and really, how much of my time DO I want to spend standing anywhere NEAR such an unpleasant person?
