For the record, I don't have anything against a single older guy hooking up with a younger woman, assuming she's of legal age. Whatever floats your boat. But do we really want a Speaker of the House from a district/city where the hometown newspaper's big concern is if the Mayor's teeny-waitress babe has recently edited her MySpace page?
No doubt the values voters of San Fran would love a Speakerette Pelosi ... especially if it helps her get younger dates.
San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's new squeeze, Brittanie Mountz, just turned 20 last month -- and that raises a couple of questions about the couple's nights on the town.
The biggest question is whether Mountz has been drinking, and it's been swirling since the pair made their first public appearance and walked down the red carpet together at the San Francisco Symphony in September.
At the time, Mountz had a MySpace page that said she was 19. It now says she's 26.
But according to the Sonoma County registrar of voters, the Rohnert Park resident turned 20 on Sept. 17 -- three weeks and two days before Newsom turned 39.

Really trivial, imo. Since you're on this track, look up the trends of older women taking on much younger guys (and they are quite happy). Then consider the whole scale of older guys and younger gals and you'd surprised at the bonds and happiness between them. I have run across the material I urge you to look up but tossed it long ago, sorry. However, in one couple, he is 82 she is 26; she literally glows when he calls her name. Another couple, he at 50, she at 22; both are settled and happy with kids and a home. Now the reverse: he is 45, she is 55, solid; he is 30, she is 60, solid, stable, happy. Incidently, I personally know these people and could give many more examples. If both individuals are "of age", let them be and find something more productive to do with your exceptional talents for which I have the greatest respect.

"of age",
From the article, it would seem the young lady was not of legal drinking age, which was the point.

well dan... i do not know the CA laws, but it might be so that a legal guardian (father, husband etc) can approve an alcohol beverage. Also the person who actually serves the alcholic beverage is held responsible...

I also have to agree with hobo. As long as everyone is an adult (also your words Dan) Love conquers ... you will have young 50-s old 30s people .... it after all isnt only about the looks of someone... its about the inside...

I could not help but notice the young lass' name is Mountz...sounds like a pseudonym used for "a specific type of movie featuring naked people".
