The DNC doesn't have enough money to finance all of the campaigns it wants to finance. So, what will they do about it?
Simple. Go into debt.
I thought this is the Party so upset about things financial and such that they think they deserve to control the budget by taking over the House? If you needed proof the Dems can't be trusted this is yet another example. As if Rangle Chairing Ways and Means won't also feel entitled to a little loan come tax time.
If they take Congress, you know exactly where they'll be coming for the next loan to finance what they can't afford. Good grief, they couldn't even wait to get elected to demonstrate how fond they are of spending other people's money.
Today the bank, tomorrow your paycheck. Welcome to Democrat rules. Is it a prudent investment? Well, it wasn't when they did it two years ago. Now it's only money, next year it could be your money that they waste. All for the cause of fiscal responsibility, no doubt! Yeah, right ....
In '04, the DCCC took out a loan in an attempt to save the Texas Democratic House incumbents. In the end, four of those five Texas Democratic incumbents lost.

Apparently you're not familiar with the concept of "finance."

Next year, it will continue to be your children's money.

Well the rethugs are already putting us into massive debt...I trust the dems to not be nearly as careless and to investigate war profiteers something rethug scum never do!

1) How did you buy your house? Car? Temporary debt is not a problem when taking back congress is at stake. I will support my fellow commenter who has asked if you have ever heard of finance. I bet there are Republicans doing the same thing right now.
2) Blaming the democrats for fiscal irresponisbility and deficit spending after the last five years is about the most absurd thing I've ever heard. You guys REALLY need to get some new material.
Posted by: Jabba the Hut | Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 09:39 AM
Uh, they paid the money back. They borrowed money and they paid it back. Something wrong with that? I know its hard for a Right-Winger to grasp the concept but in the financial world you borrow money and then you pay it back with interest.
And your post about Pelosi? I have to ask.....are you 12 years old? Can you tell me what is the connection between the age of the Mayor's date and Nancy Pelosi?
Posted by: Guy James | Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 10:01 AM
So, they take a loan and will have to repay it with interests to the lender. The repayments will come out of their own pockets, not that of the taxpayers. Unlike your Republican lawmakers who have been borrowing and spending like drunken sailors for the past five and a half years, who have saddled the taxpayer and its children with a gigantic debt, and put us in hock to China.

Whatsa matter, trolls? Too chicken to go shit in the Hotline blog's comments?
Nice ass. You drooling retards show it well.
It IS funny that the Party of Hate has to go borrow money "because an election is at stake!" (As if this is the first time? HA!) But of course they have to. On the issues, THEY LOSE. That's why they have bottom-feeders like Mike Rogers and Kos and Hamsher; they do all the really filthy stunts to distract people from the fact that they have not changed their tune a bit since George McGovern got bludgeoned in '72. Okay, they've changed a little. They've mainstreamed hate and ANTI-AMERICANISM.
Why do you "progressives" (haha!) hate America so much?

Also:
You mouth-breathers can't even be honest about anything. The ONLY reason why you blather on about Republican spending is because the money is spent on the war. You'd be almost happy if they spent that much on your bullshit priorities, but you'd STILL BITCH that it's not enough (and bitch because that's your knee-jerk reaction to every goddamned thing on earth!).
Jesus loves you! Megadittos! Dan, you're a Great American!

Hey Beth, is it getting harder to breath? Is everything getting darker? Are the sounds around you getting quieter? That's the sound of you choking on your own stupidity!
Posted by: Fred | Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 11:06 AM
Yeah, Beth. You can't trust those Dems who have to take out a loan to get their message out rather than simply calling Jack Abrahamof up for another campaign contribution(read bribe).
Setting asside that all of the money Bush spent on his dishonest war in Iraq, which was a complete waste of money because with the most powerful military machine in history he still managed to loose. Bush and the Republican congress have still managed to increase the size and expense of our government by more than any other US President. And to date they are also the only government anywhere, ever, in history to start a war and cut taxes at the same time. And we're supposed to continue to trust them with our money? Or more like our grandchildrens money, because that's ho long it's going to take to pay off this mess. It's the Republicans who don't dare run on the issues. They don't have any left except abortion and fag bashing. And those are wearing pretty thin.
Posted by: iaintbacchus | Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 11:06 AM
Ain't it the truth.
LOL, bashing the Dems for legally borrowing money, Danny boy is really scraping the bottom for talking points.
Bush inherited a budget surplus and gave us I think 4 of the 5 largest deficits in history, and that is WITHOUT SS or the Iraq war tally.
Government has gotten bigger not smaller, citizens rights to keep gov out of their hair have ogtten smaller not bigger.
Seems to me its the Republicans that don't know who they are anymore...because they most certainly are NO LONGER the party of fiscal responsibility, small government or governmental accountability.
They are still the party of reactionary moralistic religious nutjobs, though.
Rockefeller and the rest of the former real republicans must be turning over in their collective graves to see the looney fringe that took hold of their party.

"Well the rethugs are already putting us into massive debt...I trust the dems to not be nearly as careless and to investigate war profiteers something rethug scum never do!"
The deficit has been nearly cut in half (without robbing federal employee retirement ala Clinton) and after LBJ the dems have no right to squeal about "war profiteers"
Posted by: Rick | Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 11:37 AM
ha ha ha ha ....
I haven't had such a good, hearty, need-to-grab-something-to-stay-upright laugh for a long time, for ... oh, since ten minutes ago when I saw the results of Gallup's poll that says only 30% of Americans think the country is headed in the wrong direction and - wait for it - 23% trust Congress!!!
After running up the biggest budget deficit known to mankind, not just 'spent on the war', but on Halliburton and every form of corrupt handout ever known and some that still aren't, the Bushits now condemn the Dems for taking a loan to fund campaigns??? Ha ha ha ...
Have you ever taken a car loan, my right wing friends? Taken out a mortgage, perhaps? Or is the 'ownership society' your beloved President blathered on about a few years ago, funded purely by Jack 'Take the bribes n f**k the tribes' Abramoff and guys in sharp suits from Bogota?
Hasn't the Republican party ever taken campaign contributions from Citigroup, American Express, Chase Manhattan, Bank of America and a million other banks I could name? Well, duh - get with the condemnations already, cause these companies all make money by - *gasp*shock*horror* - LENDING money to other people.
But that's not all the laughs - there's more! Our friend ridicules the Dems - 'Is it a prudent investment'? Ah yes - just like the nearly four years of prudent investing in Iraq that James Baker's little commission is going to cr*p all over from a great height? That kind of prudent investment? Or the kind of prudent investment in Afghanistan where the Taliban is increasingly ruling larger and larger stretches of the country? Please oh wise and financially sound Republicans, tell us - we're dying to know! Or maybe it's the kind of prudent investment where you pay large sums of money to people well connected to Republicans to 'inform and educate' the Middle East about America's mission of enlightenment, in a no-way-propagandistic-or-clumsy fashion, after which whole generations hate the West even more? That kind of prudent investment?
Republicans talking about spending other people's money? After six years of a president with the Sadim touch? (Midas' evil twin - everything he touched turned to sh*t) After the largest surplus in US budgetary history has been turned into the largest deficit ever?
If these clowns ever understood finance, it would be something. As it stands, I fully expect this guy's next post to be on the lines of 'Elect the Democrats and they'll rape your children. Maybe even the ones working in Congress as pages, after they've sent them dirty IMs for years, grooming them for sex. And no, it's only a sin if Dems do it - if we do it, it's the fault of the demon rum. Or the all pervasive, gay-loving culture. Or something. We on the other hand, stand for personal responsibility'.
What's interesting that even the wingnuts are now beginning to try to raise scares about what will happen if you elect a Democrat - getting a little worried back there, eh? Don't worry - after November 7th, you'll have plenty of time to think about it!

Hey Rick...
The dems learned from lbj obviously the rethugs didn't! And there was a surplus when bush came into office so he is twice as incompetent for so far into debt and being slightly less in debt this year!
Posted by: madmatt | Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 11:55 AM
The libs aren't melting down over this issue - they know what's coming. Three weeks before they start crying, Curses, foiled, again!! LMAO

Ha ha. The best you can do is "the Democrats took out a loan". That's so weak. You didn't even blame a Clinton. Are you under the weather? Do you have the flu or something? Take some vitamin C, drink plenty of liquids, and maybe your next post wont be so weak.
FYI, Bill Frist took out a campaign loan (as do many candidates). Is he eeeeeeevil too? Where's the post on how irresponsible Frist is?

Oh my gawd! You're right! The Dems are so fiscally irresponsible with that $250 billion surplus they ran under that madman pervert Clinton, while Republicans are so responsible with their $3 trillion of debt under Bush. Wait! Did I just get that backwards! No.
Doh!
You can do better.
Posted by: peter in hastings | Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 12:58 PM
Man, you're getting hammered here. Heck, Republicans may not get this torn to shreds until...maybe early November!
What's next? Democrats leave the toilet seat up! Democrats won't walk old ladies across the street! Smoking Democrats litter by throwing cigarettes on the sidewalk!

Tell ya what Beth.....why don't you call my show and we can discuss the issues? We take calls Tuesday-Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15 till 4:45pm Eastern time. I'll even pay for the call 866-546-5254 Have at it girl, I'll be waiting. www.theguyjamesshow.com Now if you don't want to do that why not have one of your Right-Wing gods call in and debate the issues. Oh, I forgot, Limbaugh, Hannity, Boortz, Gallagher, Ingrahm and the rest have had a standing offer to come on the show and debate the actual issues but none of them has ever had the balls to call. Since none of those fellas have what it takes maybe you are man enough.

What Rick isn't saying is that "cutting the deficit in half" means that this years deficit is only $255 billion rather than the $480 billion that projected. That is still $495 billion more red ink than the last year of the Clinton administration. And the 5th or 6th largest deficit in history. And that isn't even counting the 50 odd billion spent on Iraq that isn't even being counted.
Would you care to explain your odd comment about "robbing the federal retirement program"? I missed that. And since my father is drawing a pension from that fund, I'm a little curious what you're babbling about.

Dems borrowing money isn't a big deal to this rightwinger. What amuses me that if there is such a groundswell of support for the dems...what happened to all the contibutions? I thought Howie Dean was a kick-ass fund raiser. I just hope they actually paid the loans back...and not go Air America.

"Would you care to explain your odd comment about "robbing the federal retirement program"? I missed that. And since my father is drawing a pension from that fund, I'm a little curious what you're babbling about."
Yep, Clinton took 84 billion out of our retirement, along with other smoke n mirrors to "create" a surplus. When the funds were "returned", the surplus went away. Oh yes, the repubocrats have spent money like drunken sailors and not haelped. Surely dad has some of his old AFGE info around that you can read. It was they who tipped us off after giving the DNC a big ole chunk of our dues money. The whole point being, ssweep your own damened floor first then rag on the neighbor's lawn. buncha partisan idiots.
