MyDD: The Hapless Left
This is a particularly repugnant, though not unexpected move by the losing Left.
The utilization of Google Adwords and simultaneous, widespread embedded hyperlinks in order to drive as many voters as possible toward the most damning, non-partisan article written on the Republican candidate in seventy key US Senate and House races. The campaign will run from Tuesday, October 24th until Tuesday, November 7th.
They desperately want to employ a method designed to direct potential voters to the most negative attacks on Dem opponents. Why?
You would think that if Liberal Dems stood for something, something acceptable to America, anyway, they would most want to direct potential voters to that in the last days before an election.
Instead they hide who they are and what they stand for because they know America will reject them if they make their positions known. There is nothing noble in the stealth campaigns Dems have been running, from Webb to Casey and others.
They are a bankrupt ideology with nothing to offer America. And even if they sneak into a slim majority, America will reject them in 2008. They remain the losers they have been since the late 60's.

"direct potential voters to the most negative ATTACKS on Dem opponents."
Your reading comprehension sucks, as usual. The post clearly said "non-partisan", so they're directing people to negative mainstream media articles. If Rove had thought this up, the strategy would be to direct people to articles saying each Democratic candidate is gay (and you would defend it as a fair tactic). What, you aren't tough enough for politics, so you have to cry about anything that isn't to your advantage?

"America will reject them in 2008. They remain the losers they have been since the late 60's."
I'm sure there were lots of Dems who thought the exact same thing about the Republicans in 1966.
Re-alignments happen. And the GOP is doing everything in their power to make a re-alignment toward the Dems possible. Heckuva job, guys!

Nope. Your reading comprehension sucks, Shalimar. You didn't even bother to read the link.
You're outed as your intent is clearly to attack Dan rather than to get a grip on what he writes.

I believe they are trying to bump up appearance of articles damaging to Republicans
Quoting them
During this key time, this project will help push the most negative article written by a non-partisan media source on all key Republican candidates to the forefront of any search for that candidate
The target is bad press for Reps not Dems the way I read it.

So I deduce they are not looking for Rep attack stuff, they are trying to bump up the appearance of articles negative to republicans in general so voters researching candidates will view mostly negative stories about the republican candidates.
Therfore they are trying to bias voter research as much as they do polls.

Quoting Mydd
Update 3: I want to emphasize to people that I am looking for NEGATIVE ARTICLES ON REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES. Not process stuf. Not favorable stuff on Democratic candidates. Not really endorsements. This is oppo stuff. Look for that.

This validates my logic of my prior post

Why should I have bothered to read the link? I read what Dan quoted, which I assume was the important part.
If I wanted to participate in oppo research and google bombing, I would go to MyDD for information. I don't. That doesn't mean it isn't part of normal campaign practices (if a little juvenile) for both parties. If you have a problem with it, do the opposite with positive articles instead of the negative stuff MyDD is trying to highlight.

Geez. For one who objects so much to the posts Dan puts up, you would have to wonder why one would not read the whole article?
Shalimar, ewwww that smell...can't you smell that smell.

Slimeball,
Unfortunate name.... but your logic is correct.

Fine, I read the whole article and still don't see the problem. You should organize the same thing about Democrats. Face it, most politicians on both sides are horrible people. It seems like a good thing to me if a google search brings up the worst article one can find about them. If you want to read feelgood pr bullshit, go to their websites.

Come on Dan...
You're smart enough to know that just because the Dems want to drive the Republicans negatives up, that doesn't mean they don't stand for something. These are just classic pre-election tactics employed by both sides time and time and time again. It just so happens that this time it's using the power of Google and media instead of something like push polling.
Listen, we're no Pollyannas here. We realize what people do to win elections. By linking certain keywords to factual articles about Republican candidates, they're just being smart and avoiding sleazy tactics to drive up their opponents negatives. If there were ever an "ethical" way to cast the opposition party in a bad light, this is it.
And please, give the breathless condemnations about repugnant tactics and bankrupt ideologies a rest. I read that and have a hard time believing that you even believe it yourself.
