Kansas City officials say this is the most irresponsible and extensive voter registration abuse in Missouri in the twenty five years they have been on the job with the Kansas City Board of Elections.
But the history of voter fraud involving ACORN and also Claire McCaskill doesn't start here, or in 2004. It began in 2003. And it gets more interesting below.
(A) ACORN Linked To Voter Registration Fraud In Missouri
In September 2003, St. Louis Election Board workers discovered more than 1,000 suspicious new voter registration forms among a batch of 5,000 submitted by ACORN. Keena Carter, the election board’s deputy Democratic director, first became suspicious after discovering a blatantly fraudulent form attempting to re-register her brother, Alderman Greg Carter (D-27th Ward), under the name “Alderman Gregory” and listing his office address as his home. Election Board workers called one of the names listed on the suspicious forms only to find that the name listed on the form was that of a baby.
Claire McCaskill has been the State Auditor since 1999 and released an audit in 2004 pointing to massive fraud. As far as I can tell, the fraudulent registrations were registered Dem. Bush won Missouri going away. But given ACORN's history in Missouri, why would they even be allowed to register voters there, again?
(D) Corrupted Voter Rolls And Double-Voting In Missouri
In May 2004, Democrat State Auditor Claire McCaskill released an audit finding that the St. Louis Election Board’s voter files included dead people, felons and Illinois residents. McCaskill’s audit found that “nearly 10 percent, or 24,000, of the city’s registered voters are either dead, been convicted of a felony, registered in another jurisdiction or otherwise questionable.” (225)
In September 2004, the Kansas City Star reported that more than 300 people may have voted twice in the same election in Missouri in 2000 and 2002, though the number “could be even higher.” The Star found about 150 potential double-voters in St. Louis or St. Louis County, 60 in the Kansas City area and the rest spread around the state. Having worked in our county voter registration office, I am not at all shocked. Anytime fraud was suspected it was taken to the Court. None of the alligations were ignored. The check and balance system works well. After working in the voters registration office in Bucks County, I find it hard to believe fraud would be over looked.

UTOH..........just finished reading. And yes, 100% of voter fraud had to do with switching parties from Republican to Democrat.

one simple way to put a serious crimp in potential voter fraud is to require ID when voting. this approach is pretty much universal in all societal/business interactions of any significance: bank transactions; doctor visits; real estate purchases....the list is pretty much endless. so using ID as a requirement for voting would seem to be a quick, easy, cheap, universally accepted way to solve (most of) the problem.
one of the major political parties opposes this idea vehemently. they screech it's because using ID is somehow 'racist', but that's nonsense: there are no laws exempting folks from using ID in bank business, or land purchases, are there. no, of course not! the government must collect its taxes, and proper ID is a key component of that philosophy. so ID requirements there are all just a-ok.
it's only when it comes to VOTING that ID suddenly becomes a racist issue, according to that one party. what's up with that? why would they act this way? cui bono?

Voter Fraud according to the recent Baker Carter commission isn't a serious problem. Why? Because how do you know who isn't showing up for an election or who they would vote for if they did. It's a myth followed by racists by Larry.
Larry. I pray that if you ever had a daughter, she married a black man. Better yet a Mexican.

pobre jaime. question: even though voter fraud "isn't a problem", why do the left/liberals/democrats/totalitarians oppose a cheap, simple, easy, already-in-practice procedure to cut down on it eben further? hmmm? why is that? cui bono?
also, why do you seem to think my (hypothetical) daughter marrying a black guy, or - your words - "better yet, a mexican" would injure me in some way? is it your closet racism? your hateful and contemptible ideas that a person's race makes them somehow..."bad"? injurious to others? is that what they taught you in the kkk? you racist PIG?
you better not let your LW buddies know in what low esteem you hold people of color, vato. or, better yet, mexicans. i thought you people were AGAINST racism! at least, that's what you've always SAID.....

I grew up in the shadows of the Erastus Corning machine in its hayday. None of this is suprising to me.

If the RNCC can hammer together a quick ad linking Claire to ACORN they could get a bump in the next week. They're the ones throwing all the hard punches here in Mizzou. Talent's trying to stay away from running hard negative ads through his personal campaign because he wants to attract the queasy center. It's been working so far, but tie Claire to ACORN (or even just ACORN's continued ability to operate in Mizzour-ah despite their awful record) and you can sew this thing up in a couple of days.

Right. This is breathtaking stuff, dwarfing the Abramoff-Cunningham-Ney-New Hampshire phone-jamming and myriad other Republican scandals. Horror over the carnage in Iraq should dissolve, if only the GOP Wurlitzer can play the Missouri Meme louder! Dream on.
