Kossack Attempts To Assault Allen?
Of course the media will spin it as an innocent protester asking questions. And the un - Americablog just happens to be immediately pushing the guys email address to the press. Not that they couldn't find him by visiting his diary at Daily "Screw 'em" Kos. And I believe this blog: Kickin’ ass on the lyin’ side: A never-ending battle against stupid, ugly, deceitful and corrupt right-wing water carriers…
UPDATE: The man assaulted is Mike Stark, a first year law student at the University of Virginia. I have Mike's email contact info for any journalists who would like to speak with him. Email me.
From the way he blogs, I'd hope someone would tackle him if he got within striking distance of any Conservative.
Alter-net Funny they claim it was a former Marine, which may be true. But they claim he was manhandled, if so, he was manhandled by what looks like quite an old guy. And the idiot also had a loosely hanging backpack and wasn't approaching very slowly. Video at link.
Former Marine and first year law student, Mike Stark was asking Republican senator George Allen some questions about the arrest records he refuses to make public and whether he had ever spit on his first wife.
Some history on the Kossack, Mike Stark who attempted to disrupt an Allen event today:
"Recently I've been thinking about how to put these "guerrilla tactics" to use where it matters: winning elections."
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/8/31/185126/629
"I want to leverage our capability and, occasionally flex our collective muscle by taking over wingnut show... let's put those (deleted) on notice. ... All it would take is one troll running back to their evil lair and telling Hannity or O'Reilly or Limbaugh that we are about to ambush them..."
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/2/26/214031/296
At a previous event, he went up to a cameraman, found out the cameraman was with the Webb campaign and told him to get ready for the ambush he had prepared: "I told him to put his still camera away and get out his video camera."
http://www.callingallwingnuts.com/2006/08/25/senator-allen-are-you-a-racist/
At that event, he was "was asked to leave a George Allen campaign event in Staunton today after interrupting the start of a local press availability with the senator to ask him a series of questions that included a racial slur."
http://www.augustafreepress.com/stories/storyReader$40417
Describing his attempts to cause trouble, he wrote: "I’m also trying to “Roger and Me” George Allen whenever I can."

Was the alleged victim a macaca?

"if so, he was manhandled by what looks like quite an old guy"
Funny it looks like three people got a hold of him (the bald guy, the guy in the coat with the button and the guy with the blue hat). I guess i'll have to believe you instead of my lying eyes and the easily repeatable video. If you're gonna lie Dan, make sure you don't link to the evidence that proves you wrong.
Oh, and why did George Felix Allen spit on his first wife?
Posted by: jaime | Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 05:19 PM
Jaime,
Don't give Dan ideas, next he will be complaining that CNN enhanced the video to make it look worse for Allen....
Posted by: yyy | Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 05:27 PM
Just like Rush Limbaugh complained that the media sped up the tape of him mocking Michael J. Fox...except the lips are perfectly in synch.
It's funny. Jim Webb has a guy from the Allen campaign taping everything he does and he doesn't acknowledge them much less call them names. He doesn't have goons beat up Allen supporters who get in his space either.

The funny thing is, after the macaca debacle you would think that they might think twice before upping the ante from a verbal assault to a physical assault.
I have to agree w/whoever said that the Republican party has turned into the party of thugs, they will use any strategy or tactic to take their opponent down, kind of like the oldtime mafia.
Smears, lies, fearmongering, racial insults and now beatings...what more I wonder does America need to wake up to the wrong direction we are going in.

But...But...Nancy Pelosi want to turn you into a fag.

No doubt the biggest problem facing this country is the prospect of gay marriage.
It will destroy heterosexuality and western civiliation all at the same time.

John Kerry needs to fire his Secretary of Defense Nancy Pelosi and change his Iraq policy immediately.

When did they start hooking up the internet in the pysch wards?

These stupid college students. Trying to ask questions of your own senator during your senator's election campaign is SO pre-9/11. From now on, we need to make sure that anyone asking questions gets put in the Freedom Box until they know how to behave.

I can't remember who we're supposed to hate more: Kos, Michael Moore, or Osama bin Laden.

Heck, I'd order my goons to beat up one of my constituents too if he asked to see my arrest and divorce records.

You think he's lying, call the Marines and ask for his DD-214.
You know what that is? The thing Jeff Gannon couldn't produce, a public record of your military service.
Not that you would know, fighting your imaginary enemies.

"got within striking distance"
Or,even spitting distance.
"he was manhandled by what looks like quite an old guy"
He very obviously didn't fight back in any way.
And, yes, it was 3 guys, not one old guy, who were doing the manhandling.

John Kerry.

You said "Of course the media will spin it as an innocent protester asking questions."
What was he a guilty of something? All he did was speak. I guess I must be some kind of liberal loonie, but the last time I checked, simply asking a politician a question is still legal. Even in Virginia. However difficult and disturbing those questions may be. Heck, doesn't being a politician imply you are well schooled in dealing with difficult and disturbing questions?
It is of course, pretty damn funny that he happened to be a marine, and a law student.

On behalf of all of the commenters above (unhinged, each and every one of them); never stop blogging, Dan. It as if you're a great whale vomiting up stupidities onto the beaches of the internets. You complete us.
Or something like that...

Wow. We've been graced with some heavy hitters. It's hard work tying these idiots in knots all by my lonesome.
I wish there were more liberals to take the burdens of the "I wish you would die" attacks from my shoulders.
Posted by: jaime | Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 11:56 PM
Please don't feed the trolls. Anyone with the smallest sense of social justice would realize that this courageous student was just trying to speak truth to power in the very best world worker party method. God how I miss my old Democratic Party when they represented people who worked for a living and actually won elections.

Nice try, but no cigar! The video is all over the Net and the networks for every one to see.
Stark asked an embarrassing question, and was assaulted and battered by three Allen staffers. I don't know what lenses you have in your glasses, or how much wax you have in your ears, but the evidence is out there. Stark did not even raise his voice, and opposed no resistance as he was being slammed into a window.
If anything, this incident reinforces the view that many have of Allen, namely that he is a bully and a thug. He could have stopped his goons. Instead, he said nothing, did nothing, and watched the assault with a sadictic glint in his eyes.
This incident also reflects the hijacking of the GOP by a bunch of radical authoritarians. It was straight out of the dictatorial textbook: assault your opponents if they dare question you. That was a scene straight out of Hitler's Germany or Stalin's Russia.
Stark is pressing charges. Good for him! A tax-paying constituent in a democracy has the right to ask annoying questions from his representative at a public event without being assaulted and battered.
The last time I looked, the U.S.A. was still -- nominally -- a democracy. Your leaders, you, and your ilk, have not yet completely succeeded in turning this country into a dictatorship, complete with intimidation, assault, and battery, on those who make use of their right to free speech. What's next in your playbook? "Disappear" your opponents to some concentration camp so they can be beaten, tortured, and killed, for daring to oppose your views? You really are very sick people.

"The funny thing is, after the macaca debacle you would think that they might think twice before upping the ante from a verbal assault to a physical assault."
No one has ever accused George Felix "The Noose" Macaca of being intelligent.

I must be really sad being you right now. It's not like us liberals all these years, knowing what a lying piece of filth The Current Occupant is and not getting the MSM to report the truth.
For you, the American public has come to know you and your kind. And the more they get to know you the more they hate you.
Hold you nose, you and the Repugs are entering the dustbin of history.

Tommo,
I don't hate them. They are not worthy of the emotional involvement that hate requires.
I have nothing but disdain and utter contempt for them. They are lower forms of life.

Weak. So now the mighty Republican party is afraid of law students with backpacks? This is why the Republicans haven't found Osama. They probably found Osama sitting in a cave somewhere in Afghanistan, but since he had a FANNY PACK of TERROR, the Republicans were way too afraid to storm the cave.
Actually, I feel sorry for the impotent Republican party. I'd like to do something to help you guys out. I can send you weak Republicans some new underwear. Just go to my website, pick whether you want pink polka-dots, Hello Kitty, or cute little red hearts, and we'll ship a fresh pair of panties to your house.

You dumb rethugs won't stand up for anything anymore will you? An American citizen gets assualted by goons for asking a candidate an uncomfortable question at a campaign rally, and you sick partisan liars excuse it all away? This failure to take responsibility for anything is exactly why the country is through with the GOP.
Posted by: Jimmy Crack Cornhole | Wednesday, November 01, 2006 at 01:26 PM
Dan, you don't get to create your own version of reality when a room full of video cameras say otherwise. Stark didn't do anything beyond asking a rude question.
Posted by: Shalimar | Wednesday, November 01, 2006 at 02:03 PM
Dan, put down the mushrooms and back away slowly, son.
Posted by: Lex | Wednesday, November 01, 2006 at 03:26 PM
Watch the video. Not what you make up in your mind. Watch the video and then tell everybody that the guy who asked the question was "threatening" the candidate. Stop being a knee jerk reactionary and act like a true conservative. Too many Republicans have lost the way and are acting like Liberals, spending too much, weakening our country, believing Bush's lies about Iraq, ignoring the fact that after five years we still can't corner Osama. We need some real conservatives, not knee-jerk Republicans who dote on every word that comes out of Bush's mouth. Maybe if we could get some of them into office, we'd have a great country again. You're defending a candidate who obviously is defensive about his actions. Why? What do you get out it?

"he was manhandled by what looks like quite an old guy"
Funny thing is, by allowing himself to be manhandled, Mike Stark did absolutely the correct thing in order to maximize the award he will receive when he sues the three volunteers, the George Allen campaign, and the RNC for assault, battery and denial of constitutional rights.
The campaign thugs - who were clearly acting as agents of Allen whether paid or unpaid - clearly assaulted Stark. Civil law is quite clear on this - when an entity allows volunteers to work for it - it becomes responsible for the training and actions of the volunteers - and Stark will likely wind up bankrupting the goons and Allen when he sues and wins.
Not to mention the criminal investigation going on as we speak.

Jesus H. Christ this blog blows donkeys for quarters in Tijuana.
Dan makes wild accusation against Stark. Video proves Dan is a lying sack of crap - and he doesn't even amend the blog when this is pointed out. Sad.
