Update: For Firedoglake readers - You'll have to ask the idiot at Firedoglake that linked here what a post from October of 2006 has to do with Scott Beauchamp. I certainly have no idea and I doubt she does, either. But if you'd like to catch up on the issue, try here instead. Oh, and you'll find Right-side blogs so much more informative. ; ) G'day!
Balloon Juice's John Cole deflates any sense of morality I can only imagine he once had. I don't read him much and never have consistently. He cites my protest, and those of others, of the sexual McCarthyism in which the Left is currently engaged and compares it to a post I did on Glenn aka GiGi Greenwald some time ago, mentioning his homosexuality.
The problem for Cole is that Greenwald wasn't closeted - and that's even assuming a sitting Senator also in question, was, or is. Not one shred of evidence or acknowledgment in that regard exists. Yet, Greenwald was and is homosexual based upon his own public acts and words. That isn't outing someone, whether someone doesn't like me or another joking about it is immaterial to the point.
And when self-professed holier than thou jerk-offs lie, or create myths to support the genuinely disturbed and disturbing sexual McCarthyism of their unprincipled colleagues, as I said, I'll just assume they are genuine, even if closeted, c***s******, too.
Commenters reminded me of the attempts to ‘out’ Glenn Greenwald. Here is Dan Riehl, today, on Larry Craig:
Not only has the party of John Kennedy, once dominant on national defense, given itself over to the blame America, appeasement movement represented by John Kerry … the party of Martin Luther King and civil rights has given itself over to the tactics of homophobic hate and Jim Crow in a quest for a power they can almost taste.
The closer they get to winning, the more of their sad, hate-filled, shallowness they expose. America needs to reject the demagogy we’re currently seeing from the Democrat Left by voting against it at the polls.
The loony Left has done what Republicans could not, re-energize the Republican base.
Here is Dan Riehl, just a few months ago:
To paraphrase learned Constitutional scholar Glenn Greenwald, I don’t have the bandwidth to quote him, we cannot accept this blasphemy, treason and eliminationist rhetoric as representative of blogospheric political discourse. Or, something like that.

I forgot how really low you are willing to go Dan and what a disgusting pervert you must be in real life.
Ick is all I can say.

John Cole has always been a Trotskyite RINO anyway. If he's gay, it wouldn't surprise anyone. We should send him somewhere along with the rest of those perverts. I'm sick of them contaminating America.

Wow!
Some folks get very testy when their hypocrisy is pointed out to them.

Guess the GOP's pink purge is now on in earnest!

"Guess the GOP's pink purge is now on in earnest!"
Spoken like a true c***s*****.

Wow. I look at this site, and all it seems to be about is calling people who don't tow the Bush line names. C*** s*****, haters, bigots, mysogynists, moonbats, etc.
Are you a Republican, or a Bolshevik?
It is awesome that you have an ad about how the Republicans are considering removing mortgage interest deductions on the right side though. Thanks for that.

GOP4Me is an ultralib spoofer. Davebo is just playing along.

Thank you for pointing out the hypocrisy and meanspiritness of the Left. Thank God that the Right uses God-given, nice, honest tactics in their campaigns with those paragons of virtue, Lee Atwater and Karl Rove. And why the epitath, co**s**ker? Thinking of a little boy on boy action for yourself? Or perhaps that's not your thing and you fathered a black baby just like John McCain did?
The days of playing nice by the liberals is over. Don't whine when you get hoisted on your own petard. Twit.

"GOP4Me is an ultralib spoofer. Davebo is just playing along."
Lies and slander. You moonbats are good at that. Keep it coming.

So let me get this straight. This guy Rogers "outs" a Republican Senator. Some other dude that no one has heard of posts a diary on Kos alerting others to the story (hmm, much like the proprietor of this site has done). Some people who have also visitied Kos' site have donated to Tester in the past. Therefore, Tester supports everything Mike Rogers does.
Is that really the type of logic that they teach to the wingnuts, or is Dan Riehl simply one of the stupidest people on the planet? Of course, those aren't mutually exclusive, and I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to the second question.

It's okay. You liberals can't help being dishonest. It's who you are.

"According to our Liberal focus groups, we'll need anatomically correct dolls for Gay male Liberals, but not so for the Liberal ladies and feminists - they like their Boy Toys neutered, research has shown."
"We may eventually come out with a sort of rag doll model for Conservatives who might like to have one around for a pin cushion -"
"And I condemned this post before I made it, so I'll thank the politically correct not to even bother going there."
while some of the comments furthered the use of stereotypes i find not true, i found the piece pretty darn funny. jesus, lighten up people.

I'm wondering why dan doesn't oh I don't know...blog about how the military is over run with traitors now that they have recommended the death penalty for 8 soldiers accused of offenses ranging from rape/murder of a 14 and 5 year old girl to the more straightforward cold blooded murder of able bodied adult Iraqi males??
Apparently, the 'war president' and the tough on terror party don't want to talk about Iraq afterall.
What a pity that 'traitor' Baker's report won't be coming out until after the election.
Bush JUNIOR can thank his poor thankless father for that one, god, what a disappointment his children must be to George HW Bush, a real Republican in the original cast.

Dan,
You appear to have gotten under the skin of the Kos-Stituents. (I'm jealous, but good job.) What hypocrites. Foley's sin, we find out, is being a homosexual, as there is no evidence of any contact with a minor.
And Larry Craig? Again, his sin is (allegedly) being bisexual. And he was outed b/c he voted for Alito? Huh? And he's against gay marriage? What?
So, what is the Left going to do next? Find out if any congressman voting against affirmative action has black relatives? It's absurd. These people are bad news ...
But I thank them for firing up the Republican base. Keep up the good work.
Posted by: dc | Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 05:51 PM
Um, no Foley's sin was hitting on his high school pages...sending explicit emails to high school students who ALSO happen to work for him, eg abusing his office.
If a marriaged congressman was sending explit sex soaked emails to high school girl pages and it was common knowledge that they got their jobs based on their looks and whether he thought he could get over on them...wouldn't the reaction be the same?
Disgust at a dirty old man abusing his power?

DC,
You make a good point. Consider this.

Readership dropping like a lead stone for months, and yet today he gets a bit of a bump.
Even if it is from folks laughing at him, it still counts right?
Maybe you should try it?

“He is married to the former Suzanne Thompson. They have three children: two sons, Mike and Jay, a daughter, Shae, and nine beautiful grandchildren.”
Adultery too, of course we no Repubs don’t care about that.

"Balloon Juice's John Cole deflates any sense of morality I can only imagine he once had."
You realize, of course, that sentence makes no sense at all...
Okay. Maybe you don't.

Dan: How did you feel when Mary Cheney, and openly gay person was being discussed by Kerry and on blogs? As you say above, she wasn't closeted. Everyone knew she was gay based upon her own public acts and words.
