HRC Cops To StopSexualPredators Link
Well, sort of ... hmm. Or a convenient explanation, now that they've been found out?
The communications director (you don't need his name) explained to me what happened. An employee working for them out of Michigan was using the organization's resources and computers to work on this website (SSP). It recently came to the attention of the HRC and they have since dismissed the employee after investigating his actions. I did not press him on any connection or similar purpose of HRC and the employee. I'll leave that to others.

I find it hard to believe an underling "employee" sits on this kind of information and launches this without executive approval. Most flunkies look to transform that sort of information into personal advancement in the organization -- which can only be done by surfacing it to those in a position to dole out the scooby snacks.

It should be noted that StopOctoberSurprises.com has stated that he or she (GTL) knows the person(s) identity. GTL stated "First I'll tell you where s/he works, then probably where s/he lives, and then of course his/her name... and while we are at it, address, phone number, email, etc. This is going to be fun…" Later GTL refers to it as the "SSP Group". So far GTL has been right on - hopefully GTL hasn't gotten bored. I think that there is more to come.

For reasons I’ve pointed out elsewhere, I’m not buying HRC’s story. I mentioned all this on Ace’s earlier:
How likely is it that this blogger came into possession of these emails at such a convenient time and just happened to be working for an organization who’s top dogs include people like Jeff Trandahl, the guy who supervised the House’s page program (and who has recently been talking to the FBI about the Foley scandal) and Mike Mings, the electoral affairs guy for HRC, and a former page for Kolbe?
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/10/10/foley.scandal/
While I wouldn’t say it is entirely impossible, it isn’t very likely. Especially so if this guy in Michigan they just fired turns out to have no ties to the page program himself.

I don't believe HRC's story either.
OTOH, they donated heavily to Foley in the past. So that is a point in favor of it being a rogue operation.
I'd go with 80% HRC is lying, 20% rogue operation right now, because I think the DNC assured them it would be worth burning their friends this time.

When the Foley scandal first broke, the HRC made a statement that condemned pedophile behvior. But that seems to suggest they place Foley in the category of pedophile when the objects of his desire, thusfar revealed, were teenaged men over the age of consent in D.C. and in one case 18 years of age. So that desire, such as it is, is not pedophilic.
In that statement, the HRC did not make a champion raising the age of majority to 18 or higher. So what was their ourtrage about, in actuality? Individual over the age of consent flirting, lawfully even if inappropriately?
Does anyone know what the HRC policy position is on the age of majority? Are they among those who'd lower it or raise it?
Did the HRC ever go on the record about Studds and his misconduct with a 17-year old?
Inquiring minds want to know more about the substance of the HRC position on the age of consent across the country.
