In reading over some archived copies of the Page Alumni Board, at least one post mentions a list of closeted Gay Republicans in the hands of Representative Barney Frank as far back as 2004:

Apr 20 2004, 07:18 PM-the gay woman rep from wisconsin is tammy baldwin if im not mistaken... also, im assuming that MNRepub knew this, but there were rumors going around about Foley last year as well... then again, Ive heard in legend of Barney Frank (who definitely makes my favorite politicians list, btw) holding up a list, McCarthy-style, of prominent closeted gay repubs, so you never know... on second thought, this is prolly very dnagerous territory to head into, specutlating on sexual prefeences of memebers of congress.... 8O
In other postings we see that not all Pages were exactly shrinking violets, as they discuss issues like how "hot" certain Congress members might have been, crushes they had, and two cases of Pages being overheard discussing maturbation:

i have a lot of minor embarresing moments all surronding a certian congressman i had a "minor crush" on the second half of the year. he caught me staring at him more than a few times, Ms. I caught me staring at him but she just laughed shook her said and said "trust me you aren't the first," and then there was the one time that a republican congressman asked me to look for the congressman i had a crush on so i am just waiting and waiting for a chance to finally talk to himkrad05

All right. I had one or two moments. I was a Summer 04 page for six weeks and during that time I worked in the lovely Republican Cloakroom. One day, (being the immature teenagers we are) another Cloakie and I were naming all the different ways you could say 'masturbating'.So we started to say random things that we "talked about" in Congress. So we went through a few words...use your imagination...and just as I was on "Masterb..." a Congressman walked out of the Cloakroom past us..he turned around, looked at us almost going to burst laughing, then turned back to walk up onto the floor...smiling! ewww....
