Harold Ford, Jr's Latest Gaffe
Elect Harold Ford, Jr and protect America from the Australian nuclear threat. And his intel is so good, evidently only he knows N. Korea did two nuclear tests, as opposed to one.
I would imagine the Corker camp is cutting an ad right about now painting Ford as a lightweight.
But if Mr Ford, already a US congressman, wins his bid to become a more powerful senator, Australia had better watch out.
Because according to Mr Ford, Australia has an interest in nuclear weapons and is part of the broader nuclear threat to the US.
In a speech to county government officials yesterday in Knoxville, Mr Ford - listed in People magazine in 2001 as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world - electrified the audience, as he does everywhere he speaks.

Harold Ford needs to get together with Ron Klein(the democrat challenging Clay Shaw). Klein has stated he favors a "first strike" against North Korea because of its nuclear aspirations.

Perhaps Klein could convince Ford we need to attack Australia "just in case" too?

Ummm ... Dan. Australia has been selling uranium to India and China. They just inked a deal to increase those sales to China.
Ford's a whore, and I am sure he couldn't justify this stupid assertion.
No doubt, some underling handed him a 3x5 note.
But, Australia IS in the business of selling nuclear material to people we would prefer not have it.
I'll cite my sources if you'd like. I recall seeing this info on Bloomberg about 6 months ago.

Australia has been selling uranium to India and China.
Thanks Steel but China is already a nuclear power, which, to my knowledge, Australia is not looking to be. And the US, more than any one, is helping India along. As they are already a nuclear power, I don't believe proliferation is in play.

BTW.
It's not as if Australia is the sole source - China has recently inked a deal with Kazakhstan for uranium.

No, I wouldn't call it proliferation either.
But I do think that Australia should reconsider sales to both.
It's not worth it.
Australia has almost as much oil in sand and shale as Canada and they keep finding more.
They don't need nuclear power and the Greens there would successfully block it anyway.

As I said, Ford heard 'Australia' and 'uranium' and China/India and made the leap of faith.
Of course he is wrong.
But I still think sales of uranium should be curtailed and tightly controlled.
Too much room for bad guys to obtain it.
I would also like to discover perpetual motion.
Both pursuits are just blind idealism.
