I don't know if you know this, but...in the article you lead people to:

"Update: Webb responds to the smut dust-up on Washington Post radio. I'm sympathetic to the argument that he was trying to illustrate cultural practices in a work of fiction, and apparently that's what the pedophilia passage above was about.

Webb says he wouldn't put anything in a novel that he wasn't fine with claiming, but then he also tells the radio host that he thinks he shouldn't read the passages on the air.

Overall, sounded like a decent response to me..."

Duh! Haven't you spent enough time as a political operative to know that if your trying to sway people with false information, don't lead them to a place where they could get the truth. Boom.

How can a guy who claims his favorite book is "One Hundred Years of Solitude" be such a shitty writer?

"Thingie"?

The wonders of Dan Riehl never cease!

Hey, Dan, dumped any inconveniently-diseased relatives in a skid-row flophouse to die alone and forgotten recently?

It's the Republican way, after all...

The AP-AOL News telephone poll of 2,000 adults, 970 of whom are likely voters, was conducted by Ipsos from Oct. 20-25.

In it, 56 percent of likely voters said they would vote to send a Democrat to the House and 37 percent said they would vote Republican — a 19-point difference. Democrats had a 10-point edge in early October.

Likely voters have low opinions of both Bush’s job performance and that of the GOP-controlled Congress. The president’s approval rating is at a dismal 38 percent while Congress’ is even lower — 23 percent. Two-thirds of adults say America is on the wrong track.

Better yet:

"--A new national study revealed that American voters' support for stem cell research increased after they viewed an ad featuring Michael J. Fox in which he expresses his support for candidates who are in favor of stem cell research."
...
Republicans who indicated that they were voting for a Republican candidate decreased by 10% after viewing the ad (77% to 67%). Independents planning to vote for Democrats increased by 10%, from 39% to 49%."

But keep writing about the Missouri backlash and offering no stats to back it up.

Hey, Gidget, I like your stats. Are you really a political operative? Wow, you're pretty young to be a political operative. How much does Soros pay? Do you get benefits? Free Starbucks coffee? Bathroom breaks? Hot buffet in the lunchroom? Tell us all about it. I'm looking for a part-time gig, myself. You think he'd consider hiring someone who completely disagrees with him?

That's a hilarious post, Dan. Good thing you tolerate and respect gay people, or someone might think you're a hateful, homophobic bastard.
