It's laughable. North Korea is announcing a planned nuclear test, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades are threatening to kill Hamas leaders and oil has dropped below $60 a barrel - not to mention news-wise, one of America's truly most horrific crimes took place yesterday in rural Lancaster County, PA ... and the nation's body politic is obsessed with one lost, evidently lonely, possibly drunken, out of control queer ex-Congressman.
So, got-damned substantive, no wonder Fox does so well. This ought to keep Greta humming for two weeks.
Many conservatives and or Republicans want to toss Hastert over the side for not acting like the thought police based upon a few old emails even the FBI concluded didn't amount to sufficient evidence to initiate an investigation. And others are acting surprised that Frist said the Taliban would ultimately be welcomed into the political fold, as if that wasn't the plan all along. For heavens sakes, you don't fight basically low-level conflicts for years to eradicate an enemy, you fight them to subdue it. How so many basically intelligent people seem to have missed that point is truly a freaking puzzle. Perhaps many of them were simply believing what they wanted to believe, that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are somehow reminiscent of WWII.
Clue - they have never been and never will be as America doesn't seem to have the guts to fight all out war anymore. Get freaking used to it and stop your belly aching and pretending otherwise.
We've been talking about macaca for two weeks and now this Foley silliness. The level of political discourse in this country has gotten so pathetic among the masses, no wonder it often ends up with such uninspiring political leadership. People get exactly what they deserve. And that goes for the candy-assed pundits who want to lose Hastert (no big loss imo) as a political tactic, or a way of assuaging some overly moralistic streak in themselves.
At least some aren't buying into it.
MacRanger Hugh Hewitt and Tom Maguire seem to be hanging tough while commenting extensively. Hastert says he isn't going. As for me, I'm outta here until there's something substantive to talk about, or actual news in the story. Frankly, I couldn't care less what Tony Blankley thinks. He's just part of the same bullsh** beltway system that's now turning onto itself in the latest bit of navel gazing while the world continues to turn.
I'd like to know who wrote this for the wire service.
We're glad Foley's gone. He betrayed Congress, his party and the trust of the 33 pages who serve in Congress, and their parents. He behaved immorally, and we won't be surprised at new revelations.
That said, if this scandal is the Democrats' answer to their problems at the polls, it's pretty pathetic. It shows a base contempt for the voters.

When will we understand that time is against us? When will we understand that while we are busy blaming the political parties here back and forth ... the real threat is growing by the day...
They (Jihadist terrorist organizations and states) are not against democrats or republicans... not even Americans... but simply against ANYONE who does not convert to ISLAM and bows to their convictions.
Some interesting documents on this can be found at http://www.TechnonLLC.com/blog
Instead of fighting for our individual/party egos we should and MUST unite and fight for our freedom.
