Apparently there was a raid this AM linked to an investigation of U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon (R., Pa.) and his daughter.
If there's something there, it needs to be pursued. But I couldn't help but notice this way down in the article.
At an event earlier today at Philadelphia International Airport to discuss airport noise, Weldon said the investigation is politically motivated - blaming a complaint filed by Melanie Sloan, director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
"She is the only one I know of who went to the Justice Department and asked for an investigation," Weldon said. "I know that because I have her letter."
He added, "I haven't helped get my daughter anything."
Weldon, who is involved in a tight race for re-election, has said he has done nothing wrong.

I must have missed the memo detailing how the FBI and DOJ are now in the pocket of out of office liberal Democrats.
Now, I wonder, what are the odds that the FBI would conduct a raid on Republican office holder with nothing but an election related sham/smear accusation???
Now if he was an Arab, or a professor who didn't like Bush, I'd say the odds would be about even...but a sitting Congressman?
Odds about the same as oh I dunno, Donald Rumsfeld all of a sudden getting competant.

Ah, the last refuge of the blogger/poster with nothing substantial to counter with, pointing out grammatical and spelling errors.
Better get back to Swift Boating Mr. macaca's opponent, Dan.

Hmm, no search warrants on Weldon himself, who already dealt with this before the ethics committee. We also know that Sloan has contacts in the FBI (hmm just as Wilson did at the CIA). So CREW and Sloan's FBI buddies cook up weak probable cause, get a lib judge to approve it and seize records so we can get the "FBI carrying boxes" money shot for the already CREW leaked weekly October suprise. Because if there really was probable cause the warrants would be for Weldon's office and they would be seizing a whole lot more than a box and a bag. This was a photo op nothing more.

Porn Queen,
Yeah...kinda like using passive voice to take the action away from who's doing the dirty. Nice way to back up an empty argument or to cover up facts you can't substantiate.
