Air America Crash Lands

Not really much of a surprise. Al Franken's owed over 350 G's. Awww, too bad.

Air America Radio, a liberal talk and news radio network that features the comedian Al Franken, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, a network official told The AP.

The network had denied rumors just a month ago that it would file for bankruptcy. On Friday, Air America spokeswoman Jaime Horn told The Associated Press that the filing became necessary only recently after negotiations with a creditor from the company's early days broke down.

Meanwhile, Harry Reid gets a little grief from the WaPo and several others. Still nothing like it would be if he were a Republican. Fact is, the guy was the Nevada Boxing Commissioner before he was a Senator, was there really ever a question as to whether or not he was dirty Harry? Puhlease. Word on the street was that he was going to be pushed out of the lead spot if Dems took the majority anyway, most knew of his peculiar financial arrangements all along. And this latest is only one of many, read around at link above.

» Air America Declaring Bankruptcy from A Blog For All
Unlike earlier stories claiming the network would be declaring bankruptcy, this time looks like it's the real deal. A deal to save the network fell through, leaving no choice but to declare bankruptcy. [Read More]

I could have predicted its failure, too. Most liberals I know, if they listen to radio at all, tune into NPR. They weren't going to abandon NPR for a bunch of windbag Rush Limbaugh (but from a leftist perspective) types spouting demagoguery.

It's too bad that so many Americans are gullible enough to fall for the shite spouted by right wing radio types, but that doesn't make the crap coming from the leftist side any more palatable either.

Actually, Dan, the head of your leftist Peanut Gallery damns you with faint praise. You get a lot of hits and make so much sense that the gnashing of teeth in the outer darkness of the left is where your comments come from! These guys spank their monkeys in public when they diss you in your comment section. The left has a lot of blogs saying Chris Hitchens is "past his prime." That's when you know when you're reaching paydirt, when the lying left says you're not.

Air America was a dirty joke that wasn't funny. The clowns actually paid stations to put them on the air, since the audience ranged from slim to none---sensible people with jobs listen to Limbaugh and Ingraham, who stations air for free since advertisers make money on the huge audiences. Those who failed potty training watch dirty videos and listen to Randy Roads [sp].

Thanks, Dave - Our little friend, who I unpublished, doesn't really get it when it comes to figuring out how the numbers work. I don't really foster a community here with the political stuff, the way I did with crime. Several blogs do, small, medium and large. And it can be a real plus. But I'm content with the number of unique readers who click through here on an average day and even more so with the number of people who opt to link for this or that.

It is always good to hear from someone (Rigobert) that represents the party of love and tolerance. The sad fact is that Air America was sent up like a 527 in the marketplace and doing that in a profit-driven economy...deoomed it to failure. Amazing...it only took 3 sentences for him to bash conservatives. Aaaahhhh...feel the love.
