The background on the Rightroots project can be found here. That will fill you in on what various conservative bloggers are trying to accomplish politically.
... we on the right side of the blogosphere know that if we're going to have a properly Vast and Powerful Conspiracy, it needs fresh ideas and electoral wins. Hence, our new project-- Rightroots.
There's also an introduction page here.
Like it or not, we have to make a choice come November. We can look to the Right, or look to the Left. Now, I don't know about you, but in the case above, the choice seems pretty clear. Do you really want Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House, or would you rather turn on Fox News and find a newly elected Diana Irey doing an interview.
Of course, there's more than just looks involved. Not long ago I posted about what the Dems have said they actually want to do if they get control of the Legislature.
Democrats will press to get out of Iraq. They'll mount investigations into the Bush administration's record that could rival those of Presidents Nixon in Watergate and Clinton in the Monica Lewinsky affair.
That's not really want we need right now. Iraq may not be going
as well as some of us would like, but with Iran moving forward on Nukes and al-Qaeda as determined as ever, I don't know about you, but I don't want a President bogged down in a bunch of political payback in the form of investigations while he's attempting to do what absolutely needs to be done to keep America safe.
So, once again, we have a choice. We can look to the Right and a Michele Bachmann, or we can look to the Left to a Hillary Clinton. Not that this is about looks, or anything. Actually, it's those damned pant suits I really hate. But, as the Dems have said:
They'll push a boatload of social-welfare legislation, such as raising the minimum wage, that reflects their pent-up priorities, while blocking the Republican agenda on social issues such as gay marriage, abortion and religion.
The social issues may be important to you, they may not - but one thing is clear, if the Democrats take control they are going to raise taxes. They'll have to, not only because of the types of programs they support, but also because they've been out of power and plenty of people are going to be looking for payback. And there's more. Do we really want the likes of John Kerry and Ted Kennedy having a bigger say in how we fight the war in Iraq, as well as the war on terror? I don't.
Democrats also could challenge the administration's war strategy at oversight hearings and by threatening to clamp conditions on war appropriations, although they would take care to do it responsibly, said Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, the House's third-ranking Democrat.
And just read below. Could they come up with a better recipe to slow down the economy? So, you can look to the Right and an Andrea Lane Zinga, or to the Left and a Diane Feinstein. I know which way I'd rather look. Oh, and there's guys there for the ladies, too.
You can donate to one candidate, or to the slate - and the amount doesn't matter. Besides, whatever you give, you'll only be saving yourself money if it helps defeat the Democrats in the Fall.
In the final analysis, Republican women aren't just better looking, they're better for America, too.
Read below at the proposed agenda with a Democrat win. I didn't make it up, it was based on reporting in the Contra Costa Times. Then click a link and help support the Party with the better looking broads. I figure if ladies can pick football teams based on their mascots, or colors, men out to be able to vote their conscience, too. Right?
Below is a partial list of other priorities they (Dems) would like to pursue - according to their own statements. Some of it may actually sound good. But don't forget, the taxpayer and the consumer pay for everything in the end - ultimately, that's you and me, my friends.
• Tax cuts for top earners and multimillion-dollar inheritances could be scrapped.
• Oil company tax breaks could end.
• Pharmaceutical companies would be pressed to lower domestic prices.
• The Medicare prescription drug benefit could be retooled to help seniors more and benefit the drug industry less.
• Another bill promoting embryonic stem-cell research, such as the one the president vetoed this year, could pass.
• Global warming could drive environmental and energy policy.
• Spending on welfare and affordable housing programs would expand.
If you don't like what you've read just above, do the Right thing, every little bit will help this blog driven effort.
Thanks.

More of the Babe Theory of popular politics.
When you got it, flaunt it.
Why does Pelosi look like she's getting her molars checked?

WW11 didn't go so well & the way the American public wanted either, but it was a very necessary war and people were willing to give their lives becasue the cause was just- as just as the war in Iraq is. Sacrifice sucks- no doubt- but sacrifice is what gives us our freedoms- the left has forgotten that.

With every war we've fought we've had to go back to the drawing board more than once. The people had to be patient with shortages and sacrifices, and yes, there were casualties, but we kept at it, we should now, and I fear will will not have to stuff to do it.

As much as I hate to admit it, it looks like the Democrats are right. Not by design, of course, since that would imply they had knowledge, experience and foresight, but by sheer stopped-clock dumb luck.
We need to leave Iraq and let the two factions -- who both independently hate us but who are too busy killing each other to really notice we're there -- fight each other, hopefully to the death of one of them.
And, face it, if one of the factions is going to bite the dust, it'll probably be the underfunded baathists.
It would be better if the Republicans did the pullout in many ways, because if we waited until the Democrats forced a withdrawal from Iraq and the middle east went full-boil internecine, the Democrats, I don't think, would have the brains to understand why what they did worked.
There's a difference between making knowledgeable use of dumb luck, and being a lucky cretin.
