New Fatwa Issued In Papal Controversy

An anonymous source informs me that a new fatwa has been issued in the on going Papal controversy.

An Iman has issued a fatwa against Achmed of ACME Signs and Firebombs, Inc.

I think the reasoning is obvious, don't you? And, no, it is not a photoshop.

Alas, as you'll see below, it appears Achmed and / or an incredible sense of irony has been at work around the Muslim world today.

I think the Pope caught them off balance and the first string sign maker must be on vacation. The pro-Pakistani Dukhtaran-e-Milat (Daughters of Faith) seem to have gotten the particularly short end of the sign post, if you ask me.

Those semi-literate idiots are rejecting Islam's own past. What the pope said was nothing short of reasonable, and he used well-oiled rethoric techniques to do so. Techniques developed by the ancient Greeks, and improved on by Arab philosophers.

The Andalusian Ibn-Rushd (Averroes), had clearly demonstrated the supreme value of Reason over Revelation; "when revelation entered into contradiction with reason as constituted by the philosophers, it must be reinterpreted until that contradiction was resolved"...

Back then, Arabs accepted this as a matter of fact, and seldom debated it. It is tragic that, having once saved the great texts of Greek philosophy, expanded on it, and used the great thinkers to enrich Islamic though, the Arabs today are now rejecting it. Welcome to the Dark Ages.

It is time the civilized world confronted all those who are trying to put the "fun" back in "fundamentalism"; as stonings, behadings, amputations continue unabated. I couldn't agree more, Althor, except for one thing. That 'silence before the storm' thing with Americans.
