So, Jimmay is willing to meet with a former Iranian President. And the Iranians reached out to him? Might that be because the last time they dealt with Carter they took an embassy, several hostages and eventually Iran itself - along with any Carter hope for a second term?
In case it slips any minds, eight American servicemen died in a failed operation some attribute in part to Carter's mishandling of, not only the military, including Special Forces, but also the CIA. His continued feckless meddling with Iran is the ultimate betrayal of their memory.
No intelligence was coming out of Iran because Carter had dismantled the CIA's network of spies due to the agency's role in overthrowing governments in Vietnam and Latin America.
But, as always, Carter is willing to talk. Unfortunately, that's the one thing he hasn't stopped doing since this country threw him away. And here he had everyone convinced he was a farmer at the time. Oh well, how are you going to keep them down on the farm, once they've governed like they're from Pari'.
For an event that would turn a page in American history, former president Jimmy Carter has agreed in principle to host former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami for talks during his visit to the United States starting this week.
Carter's term as president was dominated by the rupture in relations after the 1979 Iranian revolution and the takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, where 52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days until the day he left office.
Iranians made the overture for the meeting, and the Carter Center in Atlanta is working on the possible timing, said Phil Wise, the former president's aide.

Now you did it Dan. No more free Habitat for Humanity key rings for you!

What an arrogant asshole. He's a private citizen now. Unless called upon by the administration for an opinion, he should just shut up.

Arrogant and demented. Like Jesse Jackson, where do these private citizens get off in meddling in geopolitical events?
Jefferson and Madison left something out of the Constitution: Former presidents must go back to the ranch, farm, estate, brothel after their term in office and never come out except to go to Wal-Mart where they will be fined if they so much as greet the greeters.

This is the lying idiot who Chris Matthews fawns over every time he has him on what shoud be called "Lowball." I'll bet he still prides himself with maintaining complete control over the playing schedule on the White House tennis court. His finest moment was when he publicly admitted that he had been attacked by a swimming bunny rabbit while on a canoe excursion, because even though it only involved voices in his head, he apparently did truly believe that it happened.

Phil Wise, isn't that a misnomer?

Well, Iran IS Carter's mess after all. Shouldn't he clean it up? Errr, on second thought, maybe not. He's done enough damage.

NKorea is mostly Carter's mess, too. "Koreagate" is still classified, and probably will remain so for several decades. From the looks of it, he gave away the store there.

What a perfect picture of Carter. hahahaha
Can't we send him to Iran for good. I promise he won't be missed.

"I promise he won't be missed."
You think Iranians' aim is that good?
Posted by: rwilymz | Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 08:02 PM
Absolutely! I didn't think Carter had the balls to engage Iran. Either dementia has taken its tool or this brother truly can turn the other cheek to the regime that pumped him in the tushie.
Either way, our symbol of Emasculated America should go there, just for the laughs.

"Either dementia has taken its tool ..."
I think Gordon got carried away with his male genitalia abuse theme..... ha ha ha....
(Sorry.... I needed the comic relief... )
