Whether or not there are any dots to connect here isn't at all clear. But there were two men arrested in Ohio (via MM) with airline schedules and airport security information. Meanwhile, we have, what, 8 Egyptian students wandering around the country, where abouts unknown. And now Britain has made a major terrorist raid said to have foiled a plot to blow up twenty airlines between Britain and the US?
I'll turn you over to Ace for the details. Jeff Goldstein and Allah each have more. Does anyone feel like flying today? Or maybe telling Bush to relieve Chertoff of his job? Haven't we learned anything from 9/11?
Maybe there is no connection at all. But what the hell is going on when foreign nationals from the Middle East can enter the country, immediately default on their visas - and sometime later, someone gets around to wondering where the hell they are? And doesn't even immediately circulate names and pictures because it's impolite?
I call BS on that!
It wasn't clear what significance the airline information might have. Assistant County Prosecutor Susan Vessels declined to comment on whether the manifests were for upcoming flights or those that already flown. She also would not give the origin or destination of the flight or flights.
MARIETTA, Ohio - Two men were charged Wednesday with money laundering in support of terrorism after authorities said they found airplane passenger lists and information on airport security checkpoints in their car.
Deputies stopped Osama Sabhi Abulhassan, 20, and Ali Houssaiky, 20, both of Dearborn, Mich., on a traffic violation Tuesday and found the flight documents along with $11,000 cash and 12 phones in their car, Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks said.

my bad on the multipe trackback again Dan, sorry.

It's obviously a plot by the current US administration to keep the American people all frightened by the terrorist boogeyman, who really doesn't exist... But if he did, it'd be okay, because terrorists are really "freedom fighters" just like George Washington, and what patriotic American would be frightened of George Washington?
Any coincidence that this happened the day after Lieberman lost in CN and registered to run as an independent? The CIA cooked this plot to win the midterms. Go back to watching cartoons.

...oh...sorry

Where is Larry Johnson?
Term limits are what is missing.

"You've obviously have forgotten 9/11 you moron"
You've obviously developed both:
a] a severe need for a laxative, and
2] a need to know what "sarcasm" means.

rwilymz: Please take your insults and your Tin Foil hat elsewhere. Stop using this forum as a restroom wall to scribble your issues on for inteligent folks to see.
I read your posts and obviously you are attempting to connect the dots on totally non-related events.
There is a proper clinical term for that: Delusional. You have had 3 minutes of my attention and your 10 minutes of vanity at vieving your tripe posted here.

Gotta say, this is the first time I've ever seen "/s" or "/sarcasm" on this blog. If a person has to TELL you it's sarcasm, he's a piss-poor writer.

I can't help but think those missing Egyptian students were marked from the beginning. It was probably one of the most diligent manhunts we've had so far.
Considering the prolific leaks our MSM takes advantage of to the detriment of capturing or pursuing terrorist activity, a code of silence has probably been sanctioned for anyone on the hunt. I have no problem with 'our right to know' being usurped by silence at this time. "Our right to live" takes precedence over our right to know...

"Please take your insults and your Tin Foil hat elsewhere"
"obviously you are attempting to connect the dots"
oh good grief.
"If a person has to TELL you it's sarcasm, he's a piss-poor writer"
What of the conspiracy theorists who will actually say that? ...because they've actually said quite similar before?
People like: http://www.cnn.com/2006/EDUCATION/08/06/sept11.theories.ap/index.html

smells fishy to me....
$11k, 12 phones and admitting to buying 600 in recent months and selling them to someone else...and then a bunch of missing students.
Those two are probably the tip of the iceberg.
(OT.. but I think people would be amazed at the number of foreign students we educate on our tax dollar....not to mention that many of these students aren't there for the education, but just enroll as a way to get in the US)

rwilymz,
Anyone who has read your lengthy pedantry on this blog knows you were being sarcastic. That you thought we were all too stupid to realize it for sarcasm and had to TELL us it was just shows you see yourself as waaaay smarter'n us.
That's pretty stupid.

the chips from the phones -- built to send and receive -- can be rigged to control more than fancy microphones and speakers. they can be rigged to control remote detonators.
just like on 24

"That's pretty stupid"
"...your lengthy pedantry..."
You know my work, then. I'm honored.
"...you see yourself as waaaay smarter'n us"
I would expect anyone who's good at what he does to think the same.
pedantry to follow, hopefully not all that lengthy...
9/11 was a traumatizing event. Traumatized me, at any rate. Still, I cracked jokes at work, with all the ex-CID, and ex-A-10 pilots, and ex-warplanners. Some folks are like that under stress.
And other folks get immediately constipated in the face of tragedy, and when they see people making jokes, being ironic, being a smartass think he's either 1] serious or b] callous. The folks I worked closest with on 9/11 knew I was making jokes; the folks I didn't got offended that I could dare to say [whatever].
It sometimes helps defuse offense-taking to let people know when you're not being serious. And then again, when you're being a piss-poor writer at just before 6AM and before you've even fed the chickens, ... it sometimes doesn't work.
vagueries of communication...

and i quote:
"Meanwhile, some Democratic bloggers are blaming Tony Blair's alliance with President Bush for fostering terror in the U.K. And one blogger called the elevated alert level in the U.S. a Republican ploy to divert attention from Joe Lieberman's loss in Connecticut."
